(ESC) electronic stability control light on dash

When the ESC light comes on, it sets the 'check engine light'
and sets the 'trac off' light on the dash.
What do I check besides the dealer, to find out why this occurs.
If you disconnect the battery, everything resets for about 200 miles,
then it all occurs again.

You need to get it diagnosed correctly and see what codes are present in the ABS module, it could be anything from a weak connection to a faulty wheel speed sensor, anything less is guesswork, which usually gets expensive.

SOURCE: Electronic Stability Control

Try disconnecting the positive cable from the battery for several minuets..
That will re-set everything..

If that does not work - you really should have the dealer check it out before the warranty expires..

If you go unplugging things - you risk voiding your warranty..

Hope this helps !!

The computer turns your traction control off when it sets the check engine light. Thats why VSC lights come on at the same time. Have the local parts store see what code you are getting to find the problem.

I just got my alternator fixed then i started having the ESC serv ice light come on, and the trac symbol comes up and the engine light flashes. and the power is reduced and it jerks when driving

its possible that the incorrect voltage regulator was fitted to the alternator during the repair. A low voltage or irregular voltage from the alternator can cause havoc with vehicle electronics

Trac stabilizer light on, check engine light on, engine power reduced

It's all tied together in the computer system . When you start to loose control the computer takes over reducing engine power , applying brakes etc... to bring vehicle back into control . The throttle body on your vehicle is computer controlled . electronic throttle control . the gas pedal has sensors , the throttle body has sensors an a electric motor . The lights came on because the computer disabled these systems .

Esc warning kight

esc usually means electronic spark control. But I didn't know there was a warning light for that. There is usually a bulb like solenoid on the side of the engine block. This retards timing in case of spark knock.

What does the ESC light on my Hyundai entourage mean? what does the acronym even stand for?

Your owner's manual says = Electronic Stability Control. Optimum driving safety now has a name : ESC, the Electronic Stability Control. ESC recognizes critical driving conditions, such as panic reactions in dangerous situations, and stabilizes the vehicle by wheel-individual braking and engine control intervention with no needfor actuating the brake or the gas pedal. ESC adds a further function known as Active Yaw Control (AYC) to the ABS, TCS, EBD and ESC functions. Whereas the ABS/TCS function controls wheel slip during braking and acceleration and, thus, mainly intervenes in the longitudinal dynamics of the vehicle, active yaw control stabilizes the vehicle about its vertical axis. This is achieved by wheel individual brake intervention and adaptation of the momentary engine torque with no need for any action to be taken by the driver. ESC essentially consists of three assemblies : the sensors, the electronic control unit and the actuators. Of course, the stability control feature works under all driving and operating conditions. Under certain driving conditions, the ABS/TCS function can be activated simultaneously with the ESC function in response to a command by the driver. In the event of a failure of the stability control function, the basic safety function, ABS, is still maintained.

What does esp bas mean on the panel when it comes on

Electronic stability control (ESC) (ESP) is a computerized technology [1][2] that improves safety of a vehicle's stability by detecting and minimizing skids. When ESC detects loss of steering control, it automatically applies the brakes to help "steer" the vehicle where the driver intends to go. Braking is automatically applied to wheels individually, such as the outer front wheel to counter oversteer or the inner rear wheel to counter understeer. Some ESC systems also reduce engine power until control is regained. ESC does not improve a vehicle's cornering performance; instead, it helps to minimize the loss of control. According to IIHS and NHTSA, one-third of fatal accidents could have been prevented by the technology

You hawe maiby some broken sensor.

Please tell me what this warning light means on my dash: ESC off.

This is the light that tells you that the Electronic Stability Control or ESC has been disabled. There should be a button in you vehicle that has a car and or some tire markings on it or it may just read ESC, and pressing it will turn it back on.
