I have a 2004 chevy cavalier with a 2.2l ecotec engine. The other day I performed a brake job. Before the brake job the car was running ok with the only code showing up being a misfire in cylinder 2 due to a bent plug point. After the job the car suddenly wouldnt start. the fuel pump is turning on and I can hear the whinning. The car is either not getting a spark or fuel and I cant ground a plug to check for a spark because the ecotec uses plug botts not wires. Does anyone know why this might be happening and what I can do to diagnose the problem? Thanks a lot!
I agree with the first answer...check for knocked off vacumn line from the power brake booster, and ALL coil pack wires for good fit...
Just change the pads or did you mess with the master cylinder?
I think there is a vacuum hose that runs from the intake manifold to the brake booster (big round thing the master cylinder mounts on). If that line is off, that vacuum leak may cause your timing not to advance and the car not to start.
Only thing related I can think of.
Unrelated, notoriously bad fuel pump. If you have a non OEM gas cap try taking your gas cap off. Turn the key to on and see if you can hear the fuel pump in the gas tank. Remove a fuel connection to verify you are getting gas.

Check the Main Relay or fuse to it.
Hope this helps.
