I am trying to install a amp and sub in my 08 gmc

I would go to an aftermarket radio installation store and try to find someone you could pay to tell you what to do.
Doing what you hope to do has many "tricks" that the common person does not know about.
Even an instruction manual will not tell you these tricks
The worst case scenario is a vehicle fire.
Hooking these up wrong can cause your vehicle to all of a sudden burn up one day.
I have seen it happen several times, since I am a firefighter.

IF the ground to the unit was open on the mount, then you just shocked the internal circuitry.

Check for female RCA line signal output.

I don't think factory radio will has RCA output.

It does not hurt to check.

u put to much amps to the fuel pump and burn it up u will need to get a new one

most times either attached to the backside of the radio or somewhere close by behind the stereo in the dash

from the rc converter i connected to the rear speakers taking both positive (left and right) to the positive on the factory speakers, then done the same with the negative (left and right) to the negative of the factory speakers. i connected with a quick connect. then from the converter to the amp using rc's. since my battery is in the trunk, the only wire i had to run through the car is the remote wire from the radio to my amp and then my subs to my amp.
