It seems there is some cylindrical part behind the gas pedal connected to the clutch it seems to leak. Also when the problem started I would have to press extremely hard on the clutch and since it has gotten worse till I couldn't apply enough pressure to start
The clutch master cylinder must have gone out, the seals in it have failed. The clutch master cylinder (next to the brake master cylinder) gives you hydraulic pressure so the clutch pedal can operate the clutch.
You can buy a new clutch master, a rebuilt unit, or yours can be rebuilt with new seals. Save time and money and buy a rebuilt or remanufactured unit. Once installed, you bleed the system down at the clutch slave cylinder, mounted on the transaxle.

So to make sure I am clear would this cause the car not t start?
Well, it should still start. The master cylinder is bolted to the firewall under the hood, connected to the clutch pedal by a push rod. When it's leaking, the carpet right below the clutch pedal may get wet with brake fluid. On the clutch pedal also is the electrical clutch switch, may be called the clutch interlock switch. This is the switch that allows power to reach the starter when the pedal is depressed. Check the switch-probably mounted on a bracket behind or by the pedal. A simple spring-loaded button that when opened by the clutch pedal being down, closes the current path through the switch and on to the starter solenoid. See if your switch is working, may need adjusting. I just can't think of any cylindrical part behind the gas pedal...?

hello with your clutch problem if its a hydraulic clutch i cant help you but if its a cable clutch either your cable has snapped or you might of snapped your clutch fork. common problem in holdens also
SOURCE: check engine light turned on today
take it to an auto zone, they will scan and diagnose it for free.
SOURCE: 1999 honda accord idle problem:
Is the engine light on, if so have them read? Take a look the charging system (see if it is above 13volts and below 16volts), see if the gas cap is on firmly and the o-ring on it is in good shape, look at the cars maintenance history and see how long its been since the last complete tune-up. If there are no codes recorded then it would probably be a mechanical issue, Look at coils, fuel pressure, timing, and injectors. If you need more specific info, just let me know, Good luck.
SOURCE: clutch pedal has no pressure
Pump the clutch pedal and then check for leaks again, including under the dash where the rod from the pedal goes into the clutch master cylinder. Once you find the leak, replace what's leaking and bleed the system to restore the pressure (bleeds from the slave unit, just like bleeding brakes)
