SOURCE: 99 sable won't start, replaced battery, starter, alternator, but still wont even crank. code reader also said map sensor so it was reset worked for alittle but now nothing

If the car does not have a security system, I would check for voltage at the starter from the battery and from the key switch.
The power from the key switch goes thru the neutral safety switch before getting to the starter.

Battery Light still on

The new alternator is probably ok.
I would say you burned a fuseable link in the wiring harness.
The alternator has a fuse wire between it and the battery to protect it from overload.
Have someone check the wires coming out of the back of the alternator. The big wire should have battery voltage, the small wires energize the alternator when you start the engine.

2001 ford taurus power draining new battery & new alternater won't work when cables are removed from battery

That suggests that the problem is in the harness, something in the connector or wiring is causing an open circuit. You will need to have the circuit tested to find the fault. Ford alternators have known connector issues & new aftermarket connectors are readily available at most auto parts stores.

1994 Plymouth Acclaim 2.5, 4 cyl won't start

on the backside of the alternator there should be a large black/grey wire. check to see if there is battery voltage on that wire. If there is not than you have a blown fusible link that is inbetween that wire and the battery. If there is power there than check for power on the dark green with dark blue wire. There should be power anytime the engine is running. If there is no power than there is a problem with that wire in between the alternator and the ASD relay.

Check those two out and let me know what you find.

The car won't start let alone keep running. The battery light was on for awhile but the car was running fine. Then I was driving and it just started sputtering and died and even when I jump it it only...

Get the battery & the alternator checked (Autozone, O'reilly's or even Pep Boys can do that for free). If the alternator is out or going out, it's not charging your battery - that means everything electrical in your car is now trying to run directly off the battery & draining it (it doesn't take long - especially if the lights or A/C is on). If those check out ok, take it into a mechanic & have them run a diagnostic - you may have a relay out. Good Luck.

Car wouldn't start. Thought it was a battery. Got a jump and went to mechanic. Mechanic said battery was fine but terminals very gunked up. Cleaned terminals and sent us on our way. Car...

did they run a test on the alternator!! at battery when off should be at least 12.6 volts, less than 12 volts battery is bad. when running at battery voltage should be at least 14.1 to 14.7, thats if alternator is ok. if less than above replace alternator. if alt. is ok, could be a bad battery.
