2011 Chevy Silverado, 1500 was in an accident. The air bags did not deploy. The drivers side head light is broken. It wouldn't start, and I replaced the battery. It starts now, but stops running as soon as the key is retuned to the run position. The security light is on in the message center. How is this fixed?
As Jeff said you may have to have it professionally serviced . A circuit board may have fractured in a PCM/ECM or BCM Body control module . A fuel pump circuit component may be damaged .
Security system may need to be "relearned". To do this first of I recommend hooking up a battery charger, turn the key to the start position attempt to start. Release the key to the run position and keep it there for 10-12 minutes or until the security light goes out. Return the key to the off position for 3 seconds then attempt to start again. If it doesn't stay running leave the key in run again until security light goes out. Turn off for 3 seconds and try to start again. Sometimes this needs to be done up to 3 times but usually goes on the first try. Good luck

First of all you need to get this problem fixed ASAP. While the airbag light is illuminated, your SDM (Sensing and Diagnostic Module aka: the brain of your airbag system) shuts of power to the airbags. In which, if you are in an accident your airbags will not deploy while this light is illuminated. You need to take your vehicle to a GM dealership. A Tech 2 scantool is needed to retrieve the code from the SDM. Hopefully it won't be a costly repair, but is something that defineatly needs to be corrected soon. Good luck and hope all works well.

take the six bed bolt loose and then take three buddies slide the bed back put in the new pump slide it back n place and put the bed bolts back in. if u drop the tank u can easily break the hard plastis lines that go to the fuel tank. u only have to take the fill lines and taillight wires loose this way its alot quicker, and easier.

the problem you are discribing would lead me to belive your fuel filter is clogged which is a simple fix 3 dollar part at any part store or on the worse hand your fuel pump itself could be weak you can open the gas tank cover and have another person turn the truck key to the on position without going far enough to start you will hear a faint whining noise if it is going bad or a louder noise if it is fine Good Luck

press the gas pedal on the floor and turn the key on then real fast mash the gas peal 3 times fast on the trird time hold it on the floor tell the oil light resets it self count to ten. should work just fine.
