Lost all gears while driving

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my 07 pacifica I lost all of my gears and just coasted off the road. The car starts. You can shift the gears, but it's not going into any gear other than park.

SOURCE: Car Won't Fully Shift into Park

You either have problem with the shifter assy, or the shifter cable has come out of adjustment.
If you remove the shifter bezel and center console you will be able to see the shifter cable. There will be a white or black lift tab on the cable. Release the tab and and place shifter in park. If it still does not go into park that means that you will need a shifter assy. If it goes into park with the tab released you push the tab back down with it still in park.

That should take care of your problem.

SOURCE: My gear shift is stuck and will not move from park

do the brake lights work? the system has a lock out that keeps you from moving out of park unless the brake circuit is activated, hence no brake lights no park lock out release, if the brk lights do work u most have a stuck or defective park lock out solenoid.

SOURCE: car will not shift out of second gear. while

it is going in limp mode,
if your speedometer is not working will cause this,that would be a speed sensor,or the other two reasons would be the input or output sensors on the tranny

Dodge 2500 transmission

Lost all gears? or when you slowed down you had gears again? Just lower ones. Replace the valve body. If you lose gears and have to wait a while to get them again, rebuild or replace the transmission.

I suddenly lost the drive and could only coast. I can select all the gears, clutch down or up, but nothing happens. Turbo Diesel Engine still starts ok, just won't move. Any ideas, thanks Steve.

It is most likely that the clutch has finally failed and needs to be replaced. If you wish to do this yourself and would like directions on doing so, let me know and I will get some to you. How does the pedal feel?

Chevy avalanche transmission problems

Hello;
Are you getting the check engine light? If so the electronics may have gone out. You may not need a rebuild but you won't know till you pull the oil pan on the transmission and inspect the contents. You may also have lost the neutral safety switch. It is mounted on the drivers side of the transmission. Check those out first and let me know what codes you get.
For Ponchoboy; the clunking and hissing you hear are teminal root causes. Drop the oil pan and if it has a lot of filings and metal it is time for a rebuild.
Hope this helps; Rate me highly;
