Have a 2000 STS that has a trans that works when it is cold but not when it is hot, plus it seems to push out trans fluid out of the trans dip stick when hot. Any ideas of what I can do or check ?
What you want to check first is the transmission housing vent. If the vent is plugged, air pressure will build in the transmission housing and push fluid out of the dip stick tube.
The vent is located on the top of the transmission housing. You will have to access it from the bottom.
If the vent checks OK, you more than likely have a bad front pump seal that has failed which will involve the removal of the transmission.
Good luck, let me know.
