Drove the 1996 Avalon got home & went to leave again then the car died like it was out of gas but there is gas in it. Fuel pump was not coming on after turning the key on. replaced the fuel pump & filter. Still would not crank but can hear the fuel pump working. Sounded like it was not getting spark. Check & is getting spark. Looking for some help.
If sure you have hot spark and good fuel delivery, might be a faullty cam shaft sensor, ecm, bad connection, etc.
If its a diesel Have you tried bleeding the fuel system?

Make sure that your fuel presure is up to at least 60 psi if not that could be your problem. If not, make sure you are getting spark, if not could be your Crank sensor or ingniton module ECM. Usually if your Engine control module wouldn't be bad because of your fuel pump is working, but may not be putting out the proper pressure for the fuel system. Fuel Pumps are a Problem with that year..

Is the security light on? If you have spark and fuel, it should run. Any codes? Could be bad crank sensor or cam sensor.
