My wife had our fan belt replaced about 3 weeks ago.
When I start it, it squeals for 2 - 3 seconds then stops until started again later.
It is a Nissan truck w/ only 61,000 miles. In great shape otherwise.
New belts tend to stretch after a week or two.Simply retighten the belt now that it has settled in & it will be fine. Was it the alternator belt? That is the most common one to sqeal after replacement.Hope this helps you.

Spray some water on the belt if it stops the squealing then the squealing starts again good chance belt is slipping. This will require replacement of belt draw a diagram prior to taking belt off.
Also try in the middle of the wheels that are turning the belt that the belt runs on they have bearings in them that go after some time.
Not hard to replace just need a little knowledge and utube helps to see what one loosens the belt and how.

You can buy a can of belt conditioner which you spray on the belt and it reconditions the belt and lubricates pulleys etc.
Worth a shot, how old is your belt?
