Squealing fan belt.

My wife had our fan belt replaced about 3 weeks ago.
When I start it, it squeals for 2 - 3 seconds then stops until started again later.
It is a Nissan truck w/ only 61,000 miles. In great shape otherwise.

Belt squealing

Spray some water on the belt if it stops the squealing then the squealing starts again good chance belt is slipping. This will require replacement of belt draw a diagram prior to taking belt off.
Also try in the middle of the wheels that are turning the belt that the belt runs on they have bearings in them that go after some time.
Not hard to replace just need a little knowledge and utube helps to see what one loosens the belt and how.

I have a 1995 ford taurus 3.0 6 cyl. that started squealing about 3 weeks ago changed the idler pulley and still makes this sound. It does it upon starting and when driving and very rarely stops. I took it...

Have you checked your fan belt?
You can buy a can of belt conditioner which you spray on the belt and it reconditions the belt and lubricates pulleys etc.
Worth a shot, how old is your belt?

Serpentine belt squealing

Either the belt has stretched, or the tensioner is not keeping it tight.
Or it has oil on it.

I need to adjust my fan belts on a Nissan 1991 300ZX Turbo.

Try spraying one item at a time with WD-40 or belt dressing. Try not to worry about doing the belt first and save it for last. Most causes of squeals are galzed belts from being too tight or the pulleys of whatever item, the bearings are going out or were improperly lubed.

This is the cheapest method to truoble shoot the annyoing noises.

Hope this helps!
