Lose of power

While running it will start cutting out and loose power up hills to a standstill. when you push on the gas peddle it will start sputtering and you will have to let out on the peddle a little for it to stop and maybe start some momentum.. the motor stays running cutting out and almost like chocking but never dying..

Have the fuel rail pressure checked and change that fuel filter!

Check engine light is frequently a loose fuel cap, but the other problem could be a bad fuel pump, or a clogged fuel filter. Try the fuel filter first - its the cheapest.

SOURCE: 1993 Ford Festiva Engine won't stay running

Just a little suggestion. IF this is a 1993 it is fuel injected.the car starts and runs for a few seconds and then dies. You are on the right track by checking the spark and fuel delivery. If you have both of these when it dies i would check injector pulse. the use of a noid light would be the quickes method. They can be purched at the parts house for pretty cheep. If you have no injector pulse then it cuts the fuel off to the engine.Replace the ignition module (contols spark and injector pulse) i have ran across a few that will lose only one of the outputs, insted of both of them. Now if you have fuel and fire, i would check to see if the cat. converter is damaged or cloged thus restricting the exhaust and stalling the engine. Hope this helpes.

SOURCE: Dies when idling, does better with a/c on, but still dies

this is your problem:

Here are the most common causes of surges, stalls at stops, low erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake

Pulsated break peddle happen then abs light came on then awd light came one and now losses power going up hill or pushing the gas to fast from a stop losses power ,like it cuts out

pulsating brake pedal indicates that the ABS is active under brakes whether it is required or not
from the rest I would first have a fault scan done to find any faulty sensors
Try replacing the ECM with a known good unit as the scan fault readings may reveal a problem ECM

Was running fine on interstate, started losing power on hills, cut off would not restart

When it fails to start-- do you have spark or injector pulse or
fuel pressure-- while cranking--?

Could be a crank sensor --but replacing parts with no testing,
is not the way to go --learn how to test components

Could be a crank sensor failed, fuel pump or timing issue,
chain or belt whatever it has

Look at Professional Scan Tool Data--codes or not, that is
always where you start & check the battery out is always a first
step as well

Loses power above 55 or 60 and up hill

Try a good fuel injector cleaner, like LUCAS brand. See if you can find out how much fuel pressure you have also.

Car looses power up a hill

How slight was the hill and how much weight did you have in your car? When you got power back was it because you were no longer on the hill or were you going downhill?
You may just need to drop down a gear to get the power back, if you have a heavy car even slight hills can cause it to lose power especially if your in top gear. You have a "sports transmission" option (I'm pretty sure it's on all the DSG transmissions) you just need to move it across to the +/- bit and move the stick to the - to go down a gear. Otherwise you'd have to wait until your auto decides it's lost enough revs to go down a gear. Which is why I hate autos.
Otherwise it could be bad fuel or something wrong with the turbo.
