If the internal configuration is the same, the amount of amps is not really important. The horn would only draw current when in use which would be for a few seconds.

SOURCE: Horn keeps blowing fuse/shorted out

Removing airbag: disconnect battery for 30 minutes before proceeding -- sounds like you know the rest -- just proceed carefully. If the airbag didn't deploy when you punched it, you're not going to set it off easing it out.

SOURCE: How to change horn on 1998 montero sport

Just changed my horns on my 98 Montero Sport and come to find out it was the horn relay. The horn relay is located near your power steering resivour its a small black square you will see some electrical lines running to it. Give it a couple taps and then try out your horn again. If that dosnt work your horns are located right behind your turn signals on your front bumper, they are circluar 3in and golden colored. You can get dealer ship replacement horns for 30 plus dollars or go to a autozone or advance auto and get aftermarket ones

Why my horn won't stop blowing on my 1999 Montero sport

It is usually a bad relay that causes that problem. An electrical short can run in the system to the horn switch.

Horn is out on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero limited. What parts needed to fix it?

check horn relay works
get a 12v probe and test the horn switch works when pressed
12v should be supplied to the horn relay coil contact when the horn switch is pushed on.
Also check the fuse.
Check voltage going to horn when pressed
horn might be negatively switched so 12v positive is on one side of horn and relay switches ground negative .
You will find the horn relay under the bonnet in a relay compartment most likely

2001 montero sport xls sport horn on my alarm how do i stop it i pulled the fuse but it is still goint

You need to determine if it's the horn or the alarm. My Montero (not Sport) had 3 horns. All 3 of which go off w/ the Alarm, but only one is connected to the horn on the steering wheel. I could not make mine go off w/o pulling the relay under the hood.

My spring was bad in the steering wheel. I was able to bypass the wire using instructions that I actually found on a Mitsubishi Forum. Link below:

Air intake noise when I turn it on.?

Describe the noise. Is it a hiss, like something isn't connected tightly?Or is it a horn sound? IF it's a horn sound,it could be coming from a component right at the rear of the engine. I replaced one on my boy's Crown Vic.It's hard to do without having some good selections of 1/4"drives or small wrenches.
That sound got so bad that people were getting mad at Justin because they thought he was sounding his horn at them.
I don't remember the name of the component,but it cost me 50 bucks at Auto-Zone. don-ohio (:^D

I changed the horn,it worked f/about a week, now it just clicks like it did b4.the clicking sound is coming from under the hood on the right side, are the contacts bad??

all horns use a relay.a small voltage from the horn button closes a switch,or ''relay''to send a larger voltage to sound the horn.locate the source of the clicks;that should be the relay;replace it
