I need a code for a 2002 bmw z3
If it is not your orignal raido you have to take it to the dealership to get the code. They charge little to nothing to do this. If it is your radio or know the person whom you received it from, it should be in your/their owners' manual. It is usually an individual sheet of paper included amongst the other cards they give you (bmw membership stuff, etc)
If you still have your owner's manual the insert with the radio card should be in there, along with the BMW CCA invormation and etc. literature. If you don't have the card, you must to take the radio or your car up to the dealership. They have to confirm the radio is not stolen, then will give you your radio code. The charge for this is little to nothing.

Remove the radio and record the serial number.then call any dealer and quote the serial number and the code will be supplied. enter the code and hold in the fm button for5 sec
Only way to obtain a radio code is through the dealer. Call BMW with the radio's serial number which is located at the back of the radio and they will give you the code

I have the same type and year of car,2002 BMW Z3 with the same problem. I gave dealer the serial number of the radio and the code they gave me was wrong. I called another dealer and they gave me the same 5 digit USA code. I pulled the radio and confirmed the serial number on radio. Putting the radio in service mode the radio display showes the same serial number. The dealer said that the serial number is for a Alpine radio, but this is a Blauplunkt model BP0273 with serial number 28580412 . The dealer could not help me any more than that. I asked for the 4 digit europe code but the dealer did not know how to get that. Everything worked fine until I replaced the old battery. Can anyone please help !
go to this site, it is cheaper than the dealer.
