Fuses no. 7 & 37 on my 318is K-reg Bmw keep MELTING.

I own a BMW 318is K-reg every time I turn on the side/head lights fuse 37 (10A) would blow, witch knocked out my dash lights & side lights etc. Then fuse 7 (5A) started to blow witch knocked out my central locking, electric windows & now my car won't start. Replaced fuse 7 (5A) Car started then both fuse 7 & 37 melted now when i replace fuse 7 it blows sraight away. So now my car wont start & C/L, E/W wont work. All other electrics seem fine. Can any one help shed some light on why this might be happerning.

You have to figure out where there is a short in your wiring--follow wires, look for broken, missing insulation--if it started in lights, look there first maybe. Also check the connections of plugs. Good luck it may take some searching.

Need a little more info,
When your cluster dies, is it everything?
All back lighting? or just the icons don't light anymore?
How about outside lights? tail, brake, marker, head lights, are any of those out when the fuse blows?
Does the fuse blow right away or is it a slow few minutes to hours or days?

I did some checking on BMW X5, seems that this particular vehicle has major problems with everything, so this may take some time to get straightened out.

Horn and washer fluids aren't working fuses keep blowing how can I fix... BMW 2004 325ci convertible
Try disconnecting the plug to the washer pump,if the fuse doesn't blow then the pump is faulty .If it still blows then there is a short in the wiring.

Radios usually run on 10a, chk all yr 7.5, 10, 15 a fuses in the in cabin fuse box. Take them out & chk in the light. cheers

WHAT IS A T Reg i know it UK but dont know the year if its 1990-96 app its on the Left hand side gaurd near the fire wall by the battery and also towards the front R/H/Side are the relays . and the fuses are in the r/h/side of dash ,and the Dark green relay is the head light staying on when the ign is taken out and the doors locked but the main beam stays on for 30 seconds or more sometimes and all you do is change it and it ok.

low battery or bad starter. charge the battery all the way.if it starts good if not check to see if the starter getting juice if it is bad starter get a new one if the starter is not getting juice check your connections on starter and your starter fuse.i recommend you check your fuses first be 4 you do anything

hi there in the footwell there is a second fuse box with fuses that are bolter in to place F110 runs the power to the other fuse box with the fuses that you are talking about on it make sure that the bolts are making good contact
