I have a dashboard light on constantly on, it is a funny shaped h in a green triangle on a orange back ground. i have a K reg volvo 940. i dont know what it means.

Check the speakers connection and that should give you at least 8 of the colors. The ones left then are going to be ground and power and display power. You can figure those out with a meter.

Its saying there may be a problem with emmissions, mine came 2 hours after my MOT, I just ignore it!

Is it in the center of the dash or in the right corner? The one on the right is for the ABS. The one in the center is a general message. Using the read function on the signal stalk there will be an explanation of the light.

1998 volvo s40 right hand drive: there is an orange triangle light with green in the center and an upside "y" in the center of the two. It is between the "up orange arrow" and "a an orange car with an X on it" the light comes and stays on. Dont know what it means. can you help. Thanks

dim lights are generally bad ground / rusty -loose ground points or wires

possible traction control turned off. try some switches to the right of the steering wheel and see if it comes on/off.
