Engine misfire and some times does not start when cold

I have 4 codes coming up on my 318i 2001 bmw engine code N42B20A
10040 undocumented code
P278E difference pressure sensor intake mainfold
P274E misfire detection summation error
P2722 o2 sensor 2 before cat

    code 1`0040 undocumented code only,engine running fine i think it is the o2 sns bank 1 before cat heater scope engine no pattern on o2 sensor before cat reading inactive.

Replace the Oxygen sensor. All your trouble codes are downstream of the oxygen sensor, and are related to it.

Once you replace the oxygen sensor (replace with a BOSCH sensor!), remove the positive battery cable, step on your brakes for 10 seconds, then reattach the cable. This will clear the codes from your ECM (Electronic Control Module).

There an orange indication on the dashboard of my bmw 318i shaped like an engine.
That means a fault code has been loaded into the computer memory. You will need to connect a scan tool to the ODBII port and read the code to determine what is wrong.

Sounds like it may be running a bit lean - do basic checks for air leaks in the induction system (such as leaking manifold gasket, loose hose fittings to air flow sensor etc).
Condition of HT leads also worth a check.

Service ing light on
hello mariojimenez, you could have 1 of several components causing the misfiring and check engine light to come on. I would recommend getting the computer scanned to find out what fault code you have. A fault code would be even more helpful to narrow down the root cause.
