Radio not working

I just installed a new radio in my 03 Outlander. I used a scosche wiring harness, no factory wires were cut or damaged. The new radio does not work, and when I plugged the stock radio back in, it doesnt work either... I have installed dozens of radios and have never experienced this before... I have checked all the fuses... any suggestions?

SOURCE: My accessory sockets (cigarette lighter) are not

It's fuse # 25 a 15 amp. There is a relay in this circuit and the ignition switch must be on or accessory. By the way, sometimes what you are trying to plug in just doesn't make good contact.

What can I do to use the factory plugs for install of an after market cd player

try a radio shop that either sells radios and accessories or repairs radios. you should be able to get an adapter that goes between the two so you don`t need to cut and splice.

Im replacing the radio with an aftermarket, i have installed it with proper wiring harness but the new head unit will not turn on. any suggestions?

Go to the Crutchfield site and check just in case you are missing something. They probably sell the same radio and in a pinch you can call them and tell them you can't get it to work; someone should be able to help you out. They do offer great speakers and trim panels to make it look like a factory pro install too.

Can I wire my new radio to the factory radio harness if I cut it

You would need the wiring schematics to both radios to ensure you are wiring the right leads from one radio to the other...or else you could end up damaging the receiver and/or the amp.

Installing an aftermarket stereo, spliced the wires and have everything connected including the remote wire to the factory amp wire but still no sound.

There is no remote wire on these newer trucks....03 and up....u have to buy the harness....although i didnt....i have an 03 gmc sierra and just pulled the schematic and matched the wires. And there is no programming to do on an aftermarket stereo.....I work for GMC and we cant program aftermarket stereos......if u buy the right harness ...and its over $100 then everything should work just fine.....and this does not disarm ur alarm system either....mine still works fine....hope this helps

Replace factory radio on 2002 yukon xl

all you gotta do is carfully pry the dash panel off (prying from the far left end is easiest) completely remove panel. then there are 2 clips that hold the factory sterio in place. push on the both clips while pulling the radio out. simply disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio. using an adapter avaliable at your local radio shop (scosche p/n gm02, mdarb and gm1483b) wiring harness, dash install kit, and antenna adapter. then simply match the colors on the new radio's harness to the adapter harness, crimping each connection with a "but plug". then simply follow the instructions included with the dash install kit to assemble the kit.connect the antenna adapter to radio, plug in all cables. test to see if everything works properly before the final install. install sterio into dash install kit, re installing kit where origional radio was. then simply put the panel back in its place by firmly pushing on it untill it snaps into place. then enjoy your new radio!

Wiring harness

you should never cut the wires on your factory harness... metra and other companys have harnesses that fit your car and would provide you with a correct wire color code you need to hook up a aftermarket stereo keep that in mind but i will post the wire diagram u are looking for
