SOURCE: ect power?

The ECT button stand for Electronically Controlled Transmission. In short, what the button does is change the upshift points for the auto trans. Normally, the 1-2 upshift is at 15-19 mph, pressing the button changes the shift mph form 15-19 to 19-22/23. More often than not, this feature wiooould be used if you are hauling a heay load, and the ECT gets you up to speed faster, via the longer time as mentioned above re the shift mphs. Not very useful with normal driving, it really does not do much without a heavy load.

SOURCE: 08 Highlander Indicator light

The icon that you are referring to is the "tire pressure warning" light. This indicates that one (or more) of your tire pressures is below the specified inflation pressure. Note that the SPARE tire pressure is also checked. Best advice: Get a real good tire pressure gauge, and reset all of the tire pressures to specification, which is marked on a sticker on the driver side door opening. Once the pressures are set to specs, the light will go out automatically. This should help you out. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
The graciousness of a FixYa rating would be most appreciated!

SOURCE: vsc light comes on when I put in drive or reverse

Have patience and light will go off. Or you can go to advance auto to clear it for you. Or you can disconnect the battery for 10 seconds. Your choice.

Cooling fan runs all time

If you mean all the time when the ignition is on, this may be correct, depending on how you have the climate controls set. Anytime you have the climate control in an A/C mode, or whenever the defroster is on (look for the squiggly lines icon on the control), the A/C compressor runs and thus so will the cooling fan. To be sure, place the climate control in the heat mode with the air directed to the floor vents, As long as the engine is at normal temp, then cooling fan should be off in this condition.

97 ford f-250 7.5L orange goo coming out of a round indent near oil pan. the the round indent appears to be on the engine block toward the front of the truck to the left of the oil pan. I have been having...

What you are describing sounds like what's called a freeze-plug. These are round plugs or inserts in the engine that are designed to pop out if the coolant should freeze to avoid cracking the block. the orange goo is rust mixed with coolant. This indicates that the freeze plug is leaking coolant and should be replaced (not a major job).

What does the orange warning sign on the dashboard means?

There are several waring lights on your dash so lets see if i can guess: does it look like this ( ! ) with some squiggly lines under it? If it is that's your tire pressure warning light tell you that one or more of your tires is low on air. after you correct you tire pressure you'll find a tire pressure reset switch just inside you glove box push it for a few seconds and your warning light should get cleared.
