Engine only cranks at times but doesn't start for a few minutes.
Had loss of power at 30 mph today. Fortunately, I was able to get to a side street and then tried to restart the car. It would crank. However, did not start for a few minutes. Once it did, we proceeded to our destination and then about 15 minutes later, the car lost power again and was pushed into a parking space in a nearby mall. Again, would start only a couple of minutes later.
On our way home, it lost power again at about 25 mph and I managed to pull into parking lot. Again, had to wait few minutes prior to it starting again. We eventually made it home. However, this could be dangerous for my Wife as it is her vehicle. Luck has it that I was the one driving it today due to both of us having the day off from work.

There is is something called a pgmi relay that goes bad. Its under the dash, left of the column. It is rectangular, and says pgmi on it. It is fairly expensive. Can only get it from Honda.

The hassle has to be with the power steering pump..Check to make sure that the fluid level is up to spec and there are no leaks in the hoses.. If all looks good then the pump has an intermittent condition responsible for issue. U might want to wait till it goes completely or replace it.
Fortunately when a car is in motion the absence of of the assist is no big deal/ it helps with parking and other slow maneuvering.
Have the fuel system pressure checked especially after you start and stop the engine. If the system loses pressure immediately, you have a problem with loss of residual pressure caused by a check valve or equivalent.
The battery light was on because the engine stopped running. The alternator was not charging the battery. On a model that new, if the engine did overheat the computer could kill it. A stuck thermostat comes to mind. But your temp gauge should have been on the hot side. Its also possible something locked up and is preventing the engine from cranking, such as the water pump or alternator. You may need to remove the belt to verify. If the belt is slipping it would not power the water pump to keep the engine cool.
That sounds like a battery issue. Batteries have whats called CCA (cold cranking amps) it is the main thing to pay attention to. This is a measure of how much current the battery can provide at 0 deg F. Batteries work better when they are warm, so the colder it gets, the less current it can provide.
Starting an engine requires a lot of current, over a very short time. Meanwhile, cold engines are harder to start, requiring more power to get them going. So look at your battery and its CCA and since u said u bought the car a few years ago. You probably didnt replace the battery yet have u? Batteries usually have a life of 4-6 yrs only. Well be completed while traveling with the following drive cycle pattern. Test Procedure Engine: start. Accelerate until the vehicle speed is 89 km/h (55 mph) or more. While keeping the accelerator pedal opening degree constant, keep the vehicle speed at 89 km/h (55 mph) or more and travel for 16 minutes. Will be completed while traveling with the following drive cycle pattern. Test Procedure Engine: start. Accelerate until the vehicle speed is 89 km/h (55 mph) or more. Travel for 300 seconds or more while keeping the vehicle speed at 89 km/h (55 mph) or more. Decelerate until the vehicle speed is within 80 km/h (50 mph) or less. While traveling at 56 - 80 km/h (35 - 50 mph) for 10 minutes or more, fully close the throttle at least once in 2 minutes and decelerate for 10 seconds or more. Do not repeat deceleration too often. Vehicle speed may go below 56 km/h (35 mph) after the deceleration. Stopping and braking are permitted. (If stopped or drive at 56 km/h (35 mph) or less for more than 5 minutes the monitoring may be stopped. In this case please restart monitoring from the beginning.) After completing the above deceleration, bring the vehicle speed back to 56 - 80 km/h (35 - 50 mph) and keep it in the range until starting the deceleration again. Will be completed while traveling with the following drive cycle pattern. Test Procedure Engine: start. Accelerate until the vehicle speed is 56 - 80 km/h (35 - 50 mph). While keeping the accelerator pedal opening degree constant, keep the vehicle speed at 56 - 80 km/h (35 - 50 mph) and travel for 16 minutes or more. Stopping and braking during this operation are permitted. Keep the accelerator opening degree constant for 1 minute or more after each acceleration. A/C switch: OFF. Condition of A/T: Selector lever D range. Time required: 16 minutes or more. Drive cycle pattern: One trip monitor (from start to ignition switch to "LOCK" (OFF) position). Will be completed while traveling with the following drive cycle pattern. Test Procedure Engine: start. Accelerate until the vehicle speed is 56 - 80 km/h (35 - 50 mph). While traveling 16 minutes or more at 56 - 80 km/h (35 - 50 mph) with engine speed 2,000 r/min or above, fully close the throttle at decelerate for 5 seconds or more until the engine speed reaches 1,000 r/min or under. Do not repeat deceleration too often. Stopping and braking are permitted (Rapid deceleration and sharp steering are not permitted). After completing the deceleration, bring the vehicle speed back to 56 - 80 km/h (35 - 50 mph) and keep it in the range until starting the deceleration again. Repeat the above deceleration at least 8 times by fully closing the throttle valve. Return the vehicle to the shop, then turn the ignition switch to "LOCK" (OFF) position

Condition of A/T: Selector lever D range. Time required: 21 minutes or more. Drive cycle pattern: One trip monitor (from start to ignition switch to "LOCK" (OFF) position). Will be completed while traveling with the following drive cycle pattern. Test Procedure Engine: start Accelerate until the vehicle speed is 56 km/h (35 mph) or more. While keeping the accelerator pedal opening degree constant, keep the vehicle speed at 56 km/h (35 mph) or more and travel for 16 minutes or more. Return the vehicle to the shop. After stopping the vehicle, continue idling for 5 minutes, and then turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position. Moreover, the vehicle should be set to the following conditions for idling. A/C switch: OFF Lights and all accessories: OFF Transmission: Neutral
Sounds like a fuel problem. I'd start by changing the fuel filter and running a can of Sea Foam Engine Treatment through the engine. With at least half a tank of gas dump half the Sea Foam in the gas tank and the other half in the crank case.
If this doesn't fix it check the fuel pump, don't just decide to change it or have it changed they can be rather expensive (depending on engine and model).
If the fuel pumps checks good and it's still happening you'll have to start looking into distributor or timing chain problems (usually not intermittent).
