Many of the earlier jaguars cars will have the pre-wiring installed but not the phone option. If you have Bluetooth installed. Hold the radio button marked with a phone for about a second, the display will change to indicate xxxxx or 'No Phone'. If the latter is the case then it is most likely that you do not have the option installed
Based on your VIN number, your car has the wiring to implement the bluetooth module. The Jaguar part number is C2N 3689, but please check with your dealer to confirm that it is possible.

Go to the menu on your car device. Select Bluetooth. Now go to your phone and set it to look for devices. When it finds the Car's device pair it. Default pairing is 0000 Now you can use your cars speakers as a telephone speaker.
I do not have my manual in front of me, but certain VIN numbers do not have the bluetooth installed in the car. I have a 2003 Jaguar X-Type and I have a phone button, but my VIN number was not in the range of jaguars that came equipped with the bluetooth. You can get a phone that has bluetooth and test to see if it finds a bluetooth device (your Car Phone Device).
I purchased a 2005 S-Type Jaguar recently and it is Bluetooth capable. I have synced my cell phone to it and it has accepted it. I can call out and it rings and I can hear the person on the other line. The problem is that they cannot hear me. When I start the car, I get a messages that says "Mute and replace handset to continue hands free call or replace handset to end call." What does that mean??? Please help.
That means that your car wasn't fitted with bluetooth module from factory. You can purchase at dealer but you're talking around $1k and from what I hear isn't the greatest.
I got a visor mounted blue tooth speaker from Motorola that works great in my 2005 S-Type.
Have you contacted jaguar to be sure the car is wired?
Just because there is a phone symbol on the stereo means nothing.
They all have that.
Go to Jaguars web site and email them with you cars VIN number and ask if the car has been prewired.
they will get back to you in about in 2 days and let you know.
If it has been prewired you can get it set up for a price, if not, you are out of luck.
