Hyundai Elantra cars & trucks transmission won t go into reverse m ... Question about 1998 Elantra. 1 Answer · Reverse gear almost dead in 1998 Lantra auto.
Are you sure you put the oil in the engine and not the transmission, check both the engine and trans dip sticks to make sure they are at the correct level.
can you follow the wire? does it come out of the harness and connect to the trans? automatic trans.? maybe old custom stereo or alarm wiring? i have the service manual and wiring diagram for 1998-2002. I have a '99.
Hello William. On standard transmissions you have to press down the clutch to start the car, and on automatic transmissions you have to press down on the brake pedal in order to start the car. Look for your immobilizer under the dash at clutch or brake pedals depending on trans. Hope this was helpful, GOOD LUCK.
the 2 wd and 4wd transmissions are not interchangeable. 95 - 2000 should be the same, 89 - 94 should be the same. check for an ID number on the trans pan, the newer ones should be 4L60E, the older ones could be 4L60 or 200R4. good luck!
well you have a problem and that is that your 99 accent is whats called an OBDII car. the transmission is an OBDI. there are major differences in the electrics that will prevent you from ever having it work properly. you see OBDII requires that certain trans functions be monitored by the computer for emmisions related problems [assuming your in the U.S.A. or a country with similar laws] you may be able to get it to work but the check engine light will constantly be on and the trans will never function properly.i hate to say it but your way better off getting the right one. as a side note its a good chance that a kia rio trans will work they share a great many parts with one another.
The short is inside the trans, but you will need to take the pan off and trace each wire to find out where the short actually is. You have narrowed it down pretty well. One way to really narrow it down before you take the trans out is to unplug the connector and put battery power to the PINK wire cavity. Now take a jumper wire with a 10 amp fuse and touch each wire until the fuse blows. The TAN/BLACK is the Torque Converter Clutch solenoid. BROWN is the 2/3 shift solenoid. Lt. Green is Shift Solenoid "A" and YELLOW/BLACK is Shift Solenoid "B". Those 4 solenoids are powered by the Trans Fuse.
Dodge is wildly known for there trans problems 3rd gear is the default gear or what they call the limp home mode.trans failure is the most likley cause I put 3 transmissions in my 99 before I got rid of it
