Bad door switch. It was stuck so the car didn't sense the door was open and shut. So the radio continue to play.

It is the accessory relay (NOT the accessory delay relay). On the 2004 Ford Escape, it is to the right of the fuses in the fuse box by the driver's side seat. I bought Standard V13081 RY612. It cost me $15.61 with tax. It's been a week and all is well so far.

Ford is equiped with a gem modual this will keep accsesory power live until the door has been opened after the key has been removed, radio heater blower, windows...... will all work until the door is opened. just like the headlights that remain on after the vehicle is shut off and then auto off. normal on newer fords and is a feature not a problem.

This is normal until you open a door. It will stay on for about twenty minutes as long as no doors are opened.

not the same problem...this flat won't go off when you open the door and the windows still go up and down...sometimes evrything goes off as usual and when you come back the radio is on and will not go off under any circumstances

I have a 1989 Tbird with 'only' 6,700 miles. Completely new car, but radio will not play. The station (example: 98.9) displays all the time, (no clock/time displays). With scan button, the radio continues...

Over time the capacitors in the radio start to brake down. You might have to just take it out of the car and see how it looks inside of the radio. You might find the same one on ebay to keep the care stock. Good luck.

2004 freestar can't turn the radio up or down it

I would question your children " if you have any" if they have put anything in the cd slot, I work at a dealership and we find a lot of problems with the van radios are very nice children like to play and put small change into the cd slot, which shorts out the internal components of the radio, if you remove the radio, dash piece just pops off then 4 screws hold radio in, and shake it you should not hear anything rattling around in it.

The radio is on phone mode and I can't get it to go back to cd/radio. The clock has stopped working as well.

I had the same problem. I disconnected the car battery and reconnected it. The clock and everything will have to be reset after doing this.

04' Ford FreeStar - The Radio Stay On When Van Is Off

Nothing wrong with it. When you remove the key, it stays on for about 20 minutes. It gives you time to finish listening to your radio and roll up the window. Once the driver door is open, everything shuts off or if 20 minutes has passed.

2006 freestar

Most likely there is a wheel speed sensor that is throwing an erratic signal and making the system think you have lost traction, the system may have a trouble code stored, have it tested by your local Ford dealer to verify the trounle code.
