Rear end leaking and making noise in 2000 lincoln ls

I have a 2000 lincoln ls. There's a thumping sound coming from the rear end and it appears to have leaked some rear end grease. I've experienced rear end failures so I figure that it's heading that way eventually. How do I refill the rear end grease to prolong its life?

SOURCE: 2000 lincoln ls heater not working...thermostat?

- If temp guage reads normal, the lack of heat may be due to the Heater Control Valve. Located in front of the radiator. Lower passenger side. A real bugger to replace.
- The plastic cap just over the thermostat is key in re-filling the anti freeze and bleeding air.

I have a 2000 Lincoln ls v6 engine light is on 'the system to lean bank 2' what does that mean?

If it is running too lean it means that you are getting too much air to gas ratio. You probably have an air leak somewhere or need an adjustment to fix the problem.

What could cause a thumping noise from the front end when turning at low speed?

sounds like wheel bearings-1st
but hopefully your front disc need turning, or replaced.
check wheel bearings by jacking up the front end "CAREFULLY" WITH
JACK STANDS & wiggle tires,if you get more than a 1/4'' slack on 1 or the other, than it's shot. Best to replace both sides. "GOOD LUCK'' &
BE CAREFULL.

There is a thumping sound coming from the rear end of my '06 Grand Prix. It isn't a constant thump and sometimes it happens when I apply the brakes

The thumping Would likely be warped rotors causing the pads to rock in the carrier, (Assuming the anti rattle clips were installed at the time brakes were replaced?) Turn or replace rear rotors

I have a 2000 Lincoln LS. I've changed the thermostat, and replaced the hoses but my car is still overheating. Is there something I might be overlooking?

Make sure your cooling fan kicks on.
Otherwise, it sounds like a possible leak...maybe a weeping water pump or a leak in the heater core.

Hope this helps...

Have you checked your spare tire? That and the jack for your car can work their way loose.

The rear swaybar can make noise but a visual inspection when the airbags were done should have shown up. The tailpipe can hit the frame or your rear bumper may be loose. The gastank can be loose.

Another area is inside the rear seat. There is an extra seatbelt for rear passengers and the end can swing freely under the seat. Would like to know what you found.

After starting up and putting in reverse it jerks and maks clanking noise 2000 lincoln ls v8 3.9

I would have to guess it is your rear u-joint is going to have to be replaced. Or your pinion in the rear end is loose or faulty.

2000 Lincoln LS rumble from 40 - 45 mph

See If the pitch changes when you swerve the car from left to right. You don'e have to swerve hard enough to scareanyone, just enough to load one side more than another. If the pitch changes, you likly have a bad wheel bearing or tire. Tires will make any noise a wheel bearing will so switch tires first side to side and see if the problem fgollows the tires. If not then check the wheel bearing.
Also and maybe first:

The fact that the noise is limited to such a narrow speed could also indicate an aerodynamic issue such as a roof rack or bike rack or somthing like that having moved and is now vibrating.
