I agree with Enrique.
Just to add, Maybe you can take shift linkage loose and move tranny lever by hand, see if you can get it into park position? There are safety issues trying to do that, You don't want the vehicle to move. Safety is your responsibility. If the vehicle is on an incline, you may need to nudge it a little, so the tranny isn't holding the vehicle.
Can you check for applicable tranny codes, if there are any?
Just because the dash lites come on, doesn't mean the battery has a full charge. Just my opinion.

These transmissions are computer controlled, and this sounds like you have electronic problems coupled with mechanical transmission problems. I suggest you consult a transmission specialist to diagnose your problems.

the ignition switch should be replaced but if you want to try to fix it on the cheap use some nonconductive lubricant in the key hole and on the key work the key in and out 10-15 times before turning the key reapplying lube repeat, do not use regular lubricant it can cause short of the switch, if you can't find nonconductive lubricant spray electrical contact cleaner into it or powdered graphite lube.

Sounds like a likely possibility, the reverse method definetly did the trick in loosening the brake, but it may still be slightly applied, put it in a warm place when you can, or have a shop look at it indoors, it may need to be re-adjusted, or even just warmed up until the cable frees up again

Sounds like your shifter assembly got in a bind. depending on what type of vehicle it is there should be a cable going from the brake pedal assembly to the shifter which will release it and allow you to shift. Also on most floor shift models there will be a manual override button on the shifter assembly itself you can push to release the shifter without have the key in the ignition.
The reason it won't start is because you need to be in neutral or park to do so. I would first look for the manual button but if not, your going to have to take off whatever is necassary to get to that brake cable and release it. hope this helps

Look to see if the linkage popped off of the transmission or snapped. It's odd but it all depends on what you find.
