I have a 2001 eclipse and drove to store. When I got back in it wouldn't stare. Horn or radio doesn't work either.

SOURCE: 2001 mitsubsi eclipse enter car radio wrong code 3 times

call 1888mitsu2001, choose option #4, then hit * (star). give the operator the last 8 numbers in your vin and they will provide the radio code for FREE!

DO NOT PAY FOR THE CODE ONLINE OR GO TO THE DEALER (they will also charge you).

- you will also need to provide the serial and part number of your radio (takes about 5 minutes to take apart an eclipse dash...1 screw in the bottom of the HVAC panel) if you call the 1888mitsu2001 it will provide basic instructions on how to accomplish this.

- if your radio says "off" (meaning you entered the wrong code too many times) you need to put your key in the ignition and turn it to ACC mode for approx. 45min - 1hr and then your radio will say "code" at which point you can enter the code to unlock the radio.

SOURCE: Adjusting Headlights w/2001 Eclipse?

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

No check engine light? Take it to a parts store that will do a free code check (engine light). There's a lot of things that could cause your problem, from some minor vacuum leak (cracked vacuum hose etc.) to a throttle position sensor.

Horn doesn't work

Make sure that the wires are grounded. One should be connecting to the horn itself, while the other one should be bolted onto the car nearby. I had this exact problem with my '03, and I felt like such an idiot when I finally figured out that my second wire wasn't grounded

1999 eclipse gs wont start but will crank over

There are 3 main things an engine needs to run, compression, fuel, spark, all at the right time. The easiest thing to check would be fuel and spark. Spray some staring fluid into the intake and see if the engine will try to start on that. If it does, then you know you have a fuel issue. If it doesn't, then test the spark. You can get a spark tester for about $5 at any auto part store. You just plug your spark plug wire on to it, clip it to a metal surface, then try to start engine while watching the gap on the tester for a spark to jump. You should get a good blue spark jumping the gap. If you have spark and it didn't run on the starting fluid, then you should do a compression test. Try the first two test before we get into compression testing. Another thing I would like to know is if you had any symptoms before this happened, like the service engine light was on, the car would buck, the car would run strange, or any other driveability issues before the car wouldn't start.

2001 mitsubishi eclipse won't start.

I had the same problem with my 2001 Eclipse last week. Headlights, Radio and such all worked but the car would not crank up. Sounds like your "starter" needs to be replaced. The "Starter will have the solnoid attched to it also" Remove he "Starter and take it tested at an Advance Auto store for free.

To remove the starter you will have to raise the car up, and remove the small metal heat shield.
