1995 Ranger Rover Wagon. The remote no longer works to lock the doors. Is this a fuse? If so could you please tell me the number, so I can fix it my self?
Re: Auto door locks no longer work with the remote.
If the locks work ok from the door manual switch then u have no fuse problem and may nedd to either install new batteries in the remote or if u have done that re-program them.

I had the same problem with a Toyota truck, either the key is worn or the lock itself is, you can try slightly moving the key back and forth while turning it in the lock. Do not apply too much pressure or you'll risk snapping the key off. to fix the problem completely, I would try having a new key made, if that doesn't work, get new locks, have them keyed to match by a locksmith.
Check the batteries in your remote the may need replaced and if working OK check to see if you power locks work pushing the door switch. (If batteries are low they may not disengage both the alarm and the locks)
The owner's manual for your Discovery clearly states that this is a design feature to keep you from locking the keys in the vehicle. The doors must be locked with either the remote keyless entry transmitter, or with the key itself.
There is 3 relays in one of the fuse panels that are labeled doorlocks one of them is probably bad. Push the door lock button and find the one that is clicking this is the one that is back. This should fix your problem
I just brought my car in because the AC was working, but not blowing cold. The emergency brake light won't go off. And the automatic door locks won't work (the doors lock manually but not auto). We just got the call that the entire fuse box under the steering wheel needs to be replaced. 270 for the part, 300 for the labor. !?!?!?!? It all just happened over the last weekend! They said not to drive it anywhere because you never know and all the electric could go!!! Not sure what caused it, but it sounds like I'm not the only one...
Check the door switches for the interior lights and tighten the screws holding these on to make a good earth contact.Knock the door locks lightly with a hammer to get the insides loosened up and lube these with a penetrating spray.
Driver door module is where to look also a broken or corroded wire and if you use your key to punch in the door code then the key pad has a hole in it or it just went bad it's not the remote control also check the master door lock switch for corrosion at the pins and the plugs same with the driver door module
Thanks!!
