Oil coming up the blow by tube

I am working on a 1979 Pontiac Bonneville with a factory 350 buick engine. The engine is sending oil up the blow by tube and in to the breather. I have put rislone in the oil to help reseal the rings, and checked/changed the pcv valve. Now there is a thick caramel color that is in the blow by tube, but not the breather. Is this the rislone working, or something else going on? Thank You
Jeremy

I have a 1976 buick regal 350 engine and the oil light comes on when the engine gets hot and it is at an idle. when you give it gas the light goes out. could this be the oil sending unit and if so where is...

it might be the sending unit, is it a buick 350 or a chevy. 350? if a buick engine the sinding unit should be on the side of the timing cover if a chevy 350 next to the dist.

remove the oil sinding unit and install a manuel gauge and see just what the oil pressure is if below 10 psi at hot idle replace the bearings and oil pump in the engine. if this is a chevy 350 make sure you replace the camshaft bearings this is were we use to see the gratest oil pressure loss.

1979 buick im not sure if it was a park ave or a 5th ave but i need a diagram on how the power steerign and altantor belt goes on i forgot which one goes in forn of the other i replaced the water pump but...

A park Ave. is a Buick and a 5th Ave. is a Chysler the Buick can have 3 different engines so I need to know which engine. The cysler 5th Ave. is a 318 400 or 440 the buick is a 455 350 olds or a 350 chev or a 350 buick. 3.8 buick. The 8th number in the VIN will tell your parts store guy and he shoul be able to prvide the belts and the picture of how they go on. Sometimes the picture is on the fan shrould and sometimes it's on the package the belt comes in ( some gates belts that only fit your car.

Oil pressure guage dropped to 5 after an oil change in my pontiac bonneville gxp 2005

Did it stay there? If so, put a pressure gauge on the engine, to check the actual pressure and then you will be able to tell if it is just the sending unit/pressure sw , that is off.

1979 chevy 350 modded to 383 stroker i have been

Sounds like the engine can't breath,
make sure pcv valve is good,or oil cap is vented.
your engine is building up pressure and has no where to vent,so it blows the easiest thing, the dip stick

Engine knocks at startup

It could be the oil pump, its not a bad idea to check the type of engine oil you are using maybe you can go a little higher in grade,
you can also try to use STP Engine oil treatment for petrol (gas) as addative to the engine oil it may help.
Hope this helps!

The oil pressure sending unit is located behind the oil filter, Threaded into an aluminunm housing. It has wiring that plugs into the sending unit. The oil filter has to be removed and you will need a deep well socket and a 6 inch extension. Change the oil and the sending unit together.
