After dying on me, car would crank, but not start. I got a P0340 error code for camshaft sensor. Replaced the whole distributor as I was told it was a all-in-one unit (coil, sensors, distributor, cap etc). After getting the new distributor installed I am experiencing the same exact issue. Any suggestions?

Did you try looking through the fuse panels or relays?
SOURCE: where crank shaft and camshaft?
Hi I have a 2002 altima and I just fixed all that stuff. The crankshaft sensor is a different sensor and located in a different place. The crankshaft pos. sensor is located in back of the motor next to the firewall maybe half way down toward the driver side. there was a few tricks to getting to it and replacing it that no one mentioned it but I got it down. I replaced it 3 or for times till I got the right one so I was able to do the whole thing in about 15 min at the end. if you still need help email me, its kinda easy once you know what youre looking for!
SOURCE: power to the coil and power to the distributor but not firing need help
As long as your getting power at the black/red wire at the coil (battery power when the key is swtched to the on/run position, I would check the ignition control module. I think Nissan calls it a power transistor. In any case it is mounted on a bracket attached to the air filter housing (see picture below). the bottom picture is a picture of the connector/plug at the module. Using an ohm meter check terminal A & B on the module. If you any resistance at all the module is good. If you get 0 ohms then it is bad of course. Those units are about 100 dollars and it sounds as if you are spending money on parts that aren\'t needed. Nissan is pretty good about testing procedures on thier elctrical componants so I would suggest diagnosing completely and then repair once and for all. If you find this unit is good and you need more testing procedures you can reply/comment here and I\'ll do my best to help figure this puzzle out. Hope this helps.......

Yes, if the camshaft position sensor has failed, your vehicle won't start.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
The camshaft position sensor is located inside the distributor. On some distributors, the camshaft position sensor is not serviceable (replacement parts may not be available separately). If the camshaft position sensor is serviceable, use the following procedure.
