Has had a full tune up , has spark , has fuel , new serpentine belt , new spark plugs , fuel filter , spark plug wires , air filter , thermostat , and new battery , but will not fire up when you turn over the ignition but wants to start.need firing order for the engine not the coil pack. and does anyone have a suggestion on what might be the problem.
we've checked the plugs which are new, coil plenty of fire , fuel pump also new, fuel also new, checked plug wires also good. went into the house last night ,came out this morning acts like it wants to ,but its not catching. before any of this happened it was real slow going up hill and it would also flood you could smell it real bad, but only going up hill.we've checked the plugs which are new, coil plenty of fire , fuel pump also new, fuel also new, checked plug wires also good. went into the house last night ,came out this morning acts like it wants to ,but its not catching. before any of this happened it was real slow going up hill and it would also flood you could smell it real bad, but only going up hill.

This model uses direct ignition, which means each cylinder has a coil sitting on top of the spark plug, no distributor. So - - air filter - fuel filter - spark plugs. There are things that need to be done at a certain mileage which would be in your owners manual. Such as the serpentine belt, trans fluid change, coolant fluid change, etc.
on a modern fuel injected car a tune up is pretty simple and i would consider a COMPLETE tune up as follows. 1: change the spark plugs and wires (make sure to properly gap the spark plugs and use some antisieze on the threads)
2: change the fuel filter
3; change the oil and filter
4: change the transmission filter and fluid
5; flush and re fill the cooling system with fresh antifreeze properly mixed with water
6: inflate the tires to the proper pressure listed on the tire decal located in the drivers door jamb area.
7: change the serpentine belt if it shows signs of cracking.
these steps should provide you with 3 things..1 a dependable, fuel efficient car 2: peace of mind knowing things are good under the hood and 3: many miles of driving.
Find the emissions sticker- usually either on the radiator mount or on the underside of the hood. This permanent sticker contains all the vital information you need- firing order, spark plug gap, timing, etc....
may need a tune up ie. plugs/air filter/ fuel filter any on these things can cause poor fuel economy but are not limited to just this. this is a good staring point to help improve the mileage. hope this helps
info:
The ignition system consists of an ignition coil, spark plug wires and spark plugs.
The crankshaft position sensor signal is the basis for ignition timing calculations. The alternating voltage signal from the crankshaft position sensor is digitized by the powertrain control module. This digitized signal is then used to position the closing time of the primary circuit of the ignition coil.
Ignition angle is determined by the powertrain control module in response to engine operating conditions. Once ignition angle has been determined, the powertrain control module interrupts the current to the primary circuit of the ignition coil thus triggering the ignition spark which is supplied to the cylinders through the spark plug wires and spark plugs.
The ignition coils are triggered by the powertrain control module in pairs (cylinders 1 and 4 and cylinders 3 and 2) sending one ignition spark to the firing cylinder and one ignition spark to the corresponding cylinder on the exhaust stroke. This make sures that any unburnt fuel residues remaining in the cylinder on the exhaust stroke are re - ignited to provide cleaner exhaust emissions.

The flashing check engine light is typical of a misfire issue. There are two things I would do to start with.
1. Take the vehicle to an auto parts store like Autozone and have them hook up their scan tool so that they can retrieve stored trouble codes. Even if the check engine light is not on, they should be able to retrieve recently stored codes.
2. Do a complete tune up. New plugs, new plug wires, new air filter, new fuel filter if it has not been done recently.
If the parts store pulls the codes and they cannot tell you what they mean, post them up here and I will see what I can dig up for you.
