Hi Steve I'm glad to help! Most CD Players come with two hot wire, 1 is for memory the other is for powering the cd player. Read the manual and see which one is to power the cd player and hook it to a wire that looses power when you turn the key off. Ths problem is that you have the power wire hooked to a power source on the vehicle that stay powered when you turn the key off. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Steve.
I'm thinking you might have unplugged the switch for the 4 wheel drive switch mounted on the surround for the stereo, when you installed the CD player, or maybe broke something asscociated with that switch.
well if the cd player doesnt work it could be a few things. Check to see if the fuse is blown. If you bought the car used then somebody might have had another cd player installed and took it out when you bought the car. You could check to make sure that the power is hooked up. Also check the wiring harness for ur cd player, is it the right one. Other than that it can be a very cheap fix. Cd players nowa days are very cheap and you could install one very easy.
the cd player is bad and you can hook up subs through a rca hook up that you can hook to your speaker wires in the trunk the adapter is like 20 bucks at radio shack or local sound installer or buy an after market cd player cause yours will never work again and run rca's off the back of the radio to your trunk
i would go to radio shack and get a installer kit and if there is a walmart near you they have them in the auto department back by the cd player and before you start be sure to take off the negative side of the battery
