Sounds like it is flooded. Whats a purse valve ?
Have you checked the spark plugs to see if they are wet or dry ?

SOURCE: my clutch pedal went to the floor in my 2003 chevy

check the clutch fluid level. if its empty, you have a leak, and you have air in the system. if there is no leak, and the fluid level is full, the problem lies in either the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder.

SOURCE: 96 Chevy Cavalier brake pedal to the floor

First check your brake fluid.
Either you have a failing brake booster, or you have developed a leak in one of your brake lines. If your brake line is leaking, it should be pretty evident, i.e. oily looking substance sprayed underneath the vehicle or in the wheel wells, if the booster is leaking (the large black/silver almost bowl shaped thing directly in front of the driver under the hood against the back wall) there will most likely be fluid dripping down the firewall below it, if your brake fluid is extremely low/empty, you probably have a leak, that could be at the booster or on a line, or even at the caliper/drum. If it is empty (which can make your ABS light, light up) then you have yourself a leak. Also, if the fluid is really low, you could try adding some, although you will have air in the lines if it was low enough to floor the brake, but you might be able to find the leak if you refill the fluid and cause it to spray from the leak again. Have someone watch under the vehicle while you do this.

your problem is probably a vacuum hose that goes from the purge valve to the gas tank (crack or broken hose). There should be two of these check both. A broken vacuum line will make the purge valve make a clicking noise that can be mistaken for noisy engine valves.

My Chevy cavalier 99 takes a sec to start I have to hold gas pedal to floor been like this fo at least a year I changed full regulator any suggestions it's a 2.2

if the car is fuel injected, holding the gas pedal to the floor will actually cut off your fuel injectors - which may make it worse. You need to check fuel pressure, you want to make sure the fuel pump isn't bad. Also, check your battery.

Hope this is helpful :-)

2004 chevy cavalier goes in reverse fine but when put in to drive it will not go unless you push the gas pedal for a minute or two giving it gas.

Fluid level OK in tranny. Was fluid and filter changed lately. Are there any tranny leaks from gasket area or lines or out that back.

I have a 94 chevy cavalier z24 3.1L that idles weird the rpms jump from below 1 to 2 and sometimes to have to hold the gas pedal to floor to start it and sometimes if you dont keep gas pedal on it sta

Its a fuel injection issue likely the pressure regulator check the throttle position sensor and all vacuum related issues to fuel and air intake systems .Then again if the throttle plate is stuck it got way to hot and the engine is likely damaged .The throttle problem could be a frayed cable that sticks in the jacket .
You need to look at all of this stuff and think about it before you do any repairs.
I can't see the vehicle check the cable and the throttle plate movement first it should move freely no binding or snagging if the plate is sticking not closing Ect it would cause this condition .
Lack of fuel pressure would do the same thing .

Oil change reset 2002 chevy impala

Info should be in your owners manual.
On most models you turn the key on but don't start the engine, and depress the gas pedal to the floor three times. Then turn the key switch off.

Hi,

I'm Ben and hopefully, I can provide some meaningful assistance'

Your problem suggests a problem with fuel delivery and is usually associated with a clogged fuel filter. That's a $10 fix.

However, I suggest that you have your local AutoZone run a free diagnostic scan and a check of the fuel pressure. This will determine whether or not there is something more serious, e.g., fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, etc.

Don't hesitate because the problem will only get worse.

Please keep up to date since this is a problem that is occurring ever more frequently.

Engine will turn over, but will not start

Suggestion, don;t try and start the car with the gas pedal pushed to the floor. Asking for trouble in the future.

Could be a fuel pump, clogged fuel filter.

Check engine light on? If so, Have the code read/scanned at your mechanic, or your local auto parts superstore.
