1998 Jaguar XK8 , I replaced the bulbs thinking they were burned out.
The Microswitch is actually attached to the Latch mechanism But I would suggest that you mark the position of the latch BEFORE removing the bolts as there is quite a range of adjustment available when the bolts are loosened!

same here. I did notice that if I open the trunk the dashboard does not indicate that the trunk is open when I try to drive the car. I think this is the problem since there is not on/off switch anywhere in the trunk;
