Thump noise in front end

Hello,I am hearing a ''thump noise'' at times from the front end. The steering is fine and the thump can be heard some times and not others. When hitting a bump I dont hear the thump. When I turn the wheel left or right there is no noise.Seems at times there is something loose? Thanks for any help.1999 century.

I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and works perfect! got it from www.reliable-store.com

What could cause a thumping noise from the front end when turning at low speed?

sounds like wheel bearings-1st
but hopefully your front disc need turning, or replaced.
check wheel bearings by jacking up the front end "CAREFULLY" WITH
JACK STANDS & wiggle tires,if you get more than a 1/4'' slack on 1 or the other, than it's shot. Best to replace both sides. "GOOD LUCK'' &
BE CAREFULL.

2000 dodge stratus, thump noise increase/decreas while driving, new tires 4,new cv axles, new brakes, new power steering pump installed, but thump sound is still there ?

My thought would be to look at the u joints and drive line. When driving the car and it makes the thumbing sound shift to natural, if the sound stops it is probably in drive line.

I hear a thump on the front wheels, I change the struds and it keeps doing it. what could it be.

It all depends on when you are hearing it. Does it do it all the time, anytime the vehicle is moving? Does the noise speed up and slow down with vehicle speed? Does it do it only when hitting bumps? Does it do it when you are making turns?

Any part of the steering and front suspension could be the source of your noise. Much more information is needed to tell you what the probable cause is.
