Yes they are on the same fuse. If changing the fuse doesn't fix the problem check the passenger footwell for dampness as water can get into the convenience control unit from a possible leaking pollen filter housing. If there is no dampness, the control unit could still cause this problem and it;s situated under the carpet in the passenger footwell.
Hi,
the water entering the passenger side could be either due to a leakage in the drainage tray at the bottom of the windscreen or a leakage through the window of the passenger side. Remove the carpeting and try pouring water on the windscreen to check. Also remember to leave the doors open when parked in a safe place to allow sunshine and air to dry up the interior.
Cheers
i think you need to drop down the fuse box. if its a uk vehicle then its the passenger side. footwell. then you will see the filter housing with three screws holding it in place. you have to disconnect all the multiplugs from the fuse box. so remember the radiocode
I had the same problem. Take note of black plastic trim piece that runs
along the bottom of the windshield. On the passenger side there is a
pan type attachment to this piece of trim; it can become detached from
the trim. In this case it needs to be positioned under the lower lip of
the windshield.
hi
wife had a 2001 focus estate with same problem
the problem was the seal arround the pollen filter which is situated under the bonnet just under the windscreen on the passenger side
hope this helps

There are drains under the battery box and under the ECU module. When they plug with dirt, pine needles, whatever, the water fills up the space and backs into the vents or wherever it can leak through the firewall and usually ends up in the rear footwell, drivers side. If you don't get on it and maintain those drain holes, it will start to take out the electrical. Gets very expensive for a simple design flaw. The carpet has to come up and thoroughly dried as well. Not much fun and a lot of work.
