I have a 2000 ford explore and don't know how to get the spare tire out/ down.Where is the release located?

There are 2 rods located under the carpet behind the passenger rear seat and a jack crank handle located inside the hatch on the drivers side near the tailgate. Open the rear door. At the top of the bumper (normally covered by the rear door) is a small hole. Insert the assembly into the hole until you have it engaged with the slot inside. Crank counter clockwise until your spare is on the ground. Once on the ground, remove the spare tire retainer, pulll the tire out and that should be it.

  • Remove the retainer from the center of the wheel by turning it sideways and pushing it through the center of the tire.

How to lower spare tire

Find a plastic cover located in the carpet at the back right corner. Lift the cover to locate a nut the size of a lugnut of your tires. Using the van's lugnut wrench, turn nut counter-clockwise to lower the spare tire. Have fun and don't pinch yourself while removing the tire.

Where is the spare tire located on a 1995 ford aerostar?

Section 00-02: Lifting, Jacking and Spare Tire Stowage 1995 Aerostar, Ranger, Explorer Workshop Manual
TIRE STOWAGE Tire, Spare, Removal, Aerostar If the Aerostar is a standard length vehicle the spare tire is mounted inside to a carrier at the left rear quarter panel. To remove the spare tire, remove the wing nut and plate. A flat tire can be temporarily stowed in the same location.

If the Aerostar is the bus with a standard length body or extended length (all models), the temporary spare tire is stowed at the rear of the vehicle under the body. The Aerostar standard length E-4WD bus spare tire is mounted on the floor.
  1. Insert lug nut wrench into the actuator hole and turn counterclockwise until the cable extends to allow the spare tire to be pulled rearward from under the vehicle.
  1. Slide spare tire to the rear and remove the retainer from the wheel.
  1. To stow cable/retainer with spare tire removed, insert cable fitting into carrier rear wall slot, place wheel retainer against the carrier, and turn lug nut wrench clockwise until slack is removed.

Flat tire

Ford's spares are held in place with a cable that's loosened by inserting the jack handle into the cable crank. it's located below the door sill of the rear door. Look for a hole that the jack handle can be inserted and turn counterclockwise. The tire should lower down for you.

2005 ford focus, is there a special location that they put the lug nut key?

The lug wrench is
located in a bag next to the spare
tire (3–door and 5–door models) or
on top of the spare tire (sedan and
wagon models). and the key was in this bag.
but they dont always get put back.
im sure you have checked your glove box
if you cant find it any tire repair shop can remove the lock and replace it with a standard one.
good luck
