I just put my AC into in my window and it leaks after it is on for approximately 2 days (not continuously). How exactly do I level it so this doesn't happen???

They are designed to be a little out of level with the back edge on the outside LOWER so that the condensation runs to the back and overflows to the ground.

How to fix ac clutch that always engaging

Hi Mark
Thats an easy one...
It gets told to engage by a single wire attached to the clutch.
This usually has a bullet type connector close by.
12v = ON
Disconnect it. Solenoid disengages.
(you could put a switch in the line)

This wire is controlled by the AC (control electronics) temperature sensor & the pressure build up in the refrigerant lines.
Eg The unit turns on to cool vehicle but the refrigerant is low or the high pressure line is too high so it shuts off. Then the cycle starts all over again.
You need some Service on your AC system.

Cheers

My 1997 cadillac refrigerant , i got r 134 coolant that it said to buy and the compressor want come on to charge on the gage its almost to the red (warning) level do i keep putting in till it gets enough...

NOPE STOP CHARGING DONT PUT NO MORE REFRIGERANT IN SYSTEM.DO GOING TO DAMAGE NEW COMPRESSOR AND THE EXCESS PRESSURE WILL BUILD UP CAUSE THE REFRIGERANT CANISTER TO BURST EXPLODE INJURY OR FATALLY HURT YOU. BEST TAKE CAR TO A GARAGE.LET GARAGE PUMP DOWN AC SYSTEM AND CHARGE UP.BECAUSE YOU WILL DAMAGE NEW COMPRESSOR. MOST OF TIME I WILL HOT WIRE THE AC COMPRESSOR. MAKE SURE COMPRESSOR HAS 2 OUNCES OIL IN IT.IF COMPRESSOR START UP NO OIL IT WILL LOCK UP.DONT KEEP PUTTING REFRIGERANT IN THE AC SYSTEM, THE R 134A GOING TO FREEZE UP TOO MUCH MOISTURE IN SYSTEM YOU HAVE TO HAVE A VACUUM PUMP TO PUMP DOWN AC SYSTEM CHECK FOR LEAKS BEFORE CHARGING SYSTEM UP.LOW SIDE NEED TO BE 31 - 36 PSI THE HIGH SIDE SHOULD BE 165 - 205 PSI.

My control unit wont switch on ac

It may not be a control unit issue. Be sure to check all fuses. You may have a pressure switch issue. There are at least 2 pressure switches located in the engine compartment. One is usually located on the back of the ac pump and there is usually one on the passenger side near the firewall on one of the aluminum ac lines. You can simply unplug the one by the firewall and take a paper clip and unfold it and use it for a jumper on the connector. Put one end of the clip in one side of the connector (the end of the connector that plugs into the switch) and the other end of the clip into the other side of the connector. Start your Tahoe and turn the ac on and if the ac pump is turning with the ac clutch engaged that means that you either have a bad switch or your are low on refrigerant. Feel the aluminum ac lines and see if they are getting cold. If so I would suspect a bad pressure switch. You can remove the paper clip while the vehicle is running and put it back in if you are not sure if the ac clutch is engaged. It should make a clicking noise when it engages and disengages. It is very simple to replace that switch. Simply unscrew it and screw the new one in and plug it in. It will hiss just a little when you remove and install so be quick. It will stop when you remove the old one and will hiss again a little when installing the new one. The switch on the back of the pump is not so easy. The refrigerant needs to be evacuated from the system before it can be replaced.

How do i charge ac unit on 1999 cadillac deville i need to know the procedure

first "Evacuate the system" make sure it holds 18" of vacuum. If it does it is safe to charge you must put the oil back in the system after evacuation and before the refrigerant. The amount of refrigerant should be marked on a label under the hood.

A/c unit blows hot air all the time

Most likely problem is lack of refrigerant in the AC system. AC compressors need a minimum amount of refrigerant to function. If your system has a small leak, you may have insufficient refrigerant. Have your system recharged (most garages will do it for under $100) to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

How do you put in refrigerant for air conditioning

refrigerant is added at the low side charging port, this port is located in the low side AC line from the AC compressor, it is the larger of the two AC lines from the AC compressor, you add until the pressure is stable at around 28-32 PSI with AC on.
