the common prob with old xj40 with odd readings on insrument pack is bad connection inside the pack itself with good eyesight carefull dismantling and a soldering iron it can be fixed

Did you check the oil pressure itself?

YOU HAVE ABLED YOUR FLASHER WARNING LIGHTS. LOOK FOR THE RED TRIANGLE ON THE DASH CONSOLE AND PRESS IT.

The Triangle indication:
Description: MASTER WARNING LIGHT.
The battery ECU has a self-diagnosis system. If the computer, High Voltage (HV) battery system or the components are not working properly, the ECU carries out a diagnosis to detect the malfunction, and illuminates the master warning light in the combination meter together with the HV system warning indicator on the multi information display.
NOTE:
The master warning light illuminates when the HV battery system fails and it blinks when in inspection mode.

im having the same problem. i hit the asc button to the left of the steering column. it apparently partially disengages the traction control. its a quick resolution until someone here or my mechanic explains further.

bulb failure warning,check your brake lights.

you may have high exhaust tempertures,that simbol sounds like the exhaust temp. light, you may beover fueling or have a faulty exhaust temp sensor

i think it does this if ur driving style is hurting fuel economy nothing to worry about
