99 Isuzu trooper wont start

My trooper won't start. The battery is fine and the "starter relay" is fine. It looks like it has enough power to start but nothing happens. It was suggested that it might be some clutch sensor. How much labor is involved in changing the sensor or the starter? Do you have any ideas?

I just had the same problem. The battery seems fine and everything gets electricity to run the windows/lights etc... but it just wont turn over. We've tried replacing several fuses and are checking to see if there is a problem with the starter relay. I am charging the battery up now to see if maybe that is an issue..but other than that I am out of ideas.

SOURCE: Oxygen Sensor on '99 Isuzu Trooper

The O2 sensor is on the engine side (up stream) before the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe, it is barrel shaped about the size of a jumbo magic marker.

SOURCE: isuzu trooper problem!with a 00 3 litre diesel engine not starting

Was it lined up right as the trigger point for the sensor is important. Is the fly wheel fitted one position only that the bolt holes line up or will it fit no matter which position it bolts up Line up the flywheel trigger with the sensor after you have put the engine to Top Dead Centre.Put at tdc and see if the trigger and sensor are together.

Where is the starter switch located in a 1995 isuzu trooper LS. Not sure if there talking about key switch or other in column.

The key lock cylinder operates the ignition switch sometimes ignition switch is separate sorry I didn't find where ignition switch is located if the lock cylinder is plugged into it.
You should have a starter relay and starter relay fuse.
This diagram of starter circuit shows the clutch pedal switch in the circuit on an automatic should have the neutral safety switch in the circuit. This is for 95 Rodeo.

Check the wire to the starter solenoid. It maybe broken or termination is loose.

98 isuzu trooper parked vehicle now will not start , batty ok clicks, lights everything else works, no problems before, think it is starter but could it be relay ?

If you are getting a clicking sound when you turn the key then power is getting to the starter so there is no need to worry about a relay. For some reason there just isn't enough. Check and clean your wire and cable ends free of corrosion and make sure they are all tight. It could easily be that simple. It could also be that one of the wires down at the starter is not making good contact with the terminal end,so give them all a tug to make sure.

If this is all good then I would say you are in the market for a new starter and solenoid. Hope this helps.

Your vehicle has a starter relay that could cause that problem. But it could be the starter/solenoid also.

97 isuzu trooper. Starter motor has no power.

Check the battery and cables going to the starter. Weak arc? Possible that the relay needs to be rechecked now. The inertia switch may also be a possibility. Has the car been in a recent fender bender?
