SOURCE: where do I check the transmission fluid in a 1996

VW's are notorious for not having a dipstick in the transmissions. The units are sealed, and can only be check by the VW dealers.

Sorry, my 1998 VW Beetle had the same problem.

What are the wheel alignment specs for a 1997 Buick LeSabre Limited

Wheel aligned must be done on a special machine and any spec it subject to front end wear and can be adjusted for that, so base line specs are not set in stone and the job must be done on a computerized optical alignment machine.

How can I adjust the rear wheel alignment on my 2003 ford taurus?

Your adjustment bolts (ref: Fig.6)

http://www.ford-taurus.org/taurusinfo/Specs/RearSedan.jpg

1) Mark position of adjustment bolts with white marker, paint or whiteout.

2) Using a piece of string, stretch it between the rear wheels at the back of the wheels, and then again at the front of the wheels. You are trying to ascertain if the wheels are parallel or not.

3) If the wheels are not perfectly parallel, then turn the No.6 adjustment bolts clockwise or anti clockwise, evenly on each side, until the rear wheels are parallel with each other. Then retighten locking nuts on No.6 adjustment bolts.

By the way, this method will only allow you to align the rear wheels up to each other. To align the wheels with the vehicle's body you will require a laser alignment kit, which can only generally be found at a tyre centre or service-repair centre.

My front tyrers are both worn on the inside

You have a front end wheel alignment issue, most likely that would be caster, have it checked for proper wheel aligment specs. This must be done on a special machine called an "Alignment Rack" Also make sure you rotate your tires front to rear at least every 6,000 miles.
