Spare Key will not start the car.

I have a spare key for my 2007 Ford Fusion... the remote works to unlock and lock the car, etc., the key fits in the ignition and turns, but will not start the ignition. There is a light flashing at me of a car with a lock on it (anti-theft light), how do I deactivate that or make the car start???? PLEASE HELP!

How do you get the 2007 ford 500 anti lock off so that you can start your car? Do you have to take it to a dealer?

No you don't have to have it done at dealership. i bought mine on ebay got it cut at walmart and it works. you need the two originals, turn the ignition to on and then off 4 times (i think it was) with the first two then put your spare key in and do the same. and it will work.

The timing is critical to this procedure, please read through the entire procedure before attempting.
Procedure:
1. Insert one of the pre-programmed transponder keys and turn the ignition to "on", leave on for at least one second (I wait until the red key symbol in the instrument cluster extiinguishes), remove the key from the ignition.
2. Within 5 seconds insert the second pre-programmed key and urn the ignition to "on" for at least one second but no more than 5 seconds (use the key symbol for this as well) then remove the second key.
3. within 10 seconds insert the new key in the ignition and turn the ignition to "on", if you are successful the red key symbol will illuminate then extinguish after about a second.

If you are not successful the red key symbol will flash repeatedly to indicate that you have inserted an invalid key. Remove the key, wait a minute and try it again, it took me a few times to get it perfect and I had done it before.

I am sorry to tell you but you have to have it made
at the dealer and it isn't cheap.

2006 ford fusion wont start with spare key

Newer cars won't start unless they read a signal from the key, It costs about $25 to buy an extra key from a dealer, locksmith or some local hardware stores. You then program the key to match the signal to the car's computer. Dealers know how to do this, and some locksmiths also have figured it out on many models.

HOW DO I UNLOCK A 2007 FORD FUSION WITH A DEAD BATTERY

Have you tried opening the boot with the key & climbing through? Some models will open via the key in the boot lock.. If this doesn't work I'd call a locksmith to come & open the door legally by getting in with a special tool, without the need to break the window, hope this helps....

The alarm is going of all tht time

this may work.first replace the battery in the remote(or use a spare key that locks/unlocks the car from about 15 feet away)then lock the car with the key and hold over for about 30 secs, then press and hold unlock button on remote for 30 secs.OR unlock the car with the key and hold over, all the windows will drop(if fitted) then lock the car with the key and hold over as above.....

What key do i need to get our spare tire off our 1994 ford explorer

The spare tire key/lock on Ford trucks and SUVs is not the same a wheel locks.

This is a very common problem -- Ford's spare tire key being missing in a used truck, van or SUV. Ford has discontinued this spare lock model, because it obviously sucks. Unfortunately, this means your dealership probably can't order the new spare key for you. The company that made them is still around, and you can find out what size it is and re-order, but this is not the best solution.

Here is the best answer I found, for what it's worth.

Remove the spare tire lock completely, and you don't need a key at all. Problem solved. You must first remove the black plastic guide that leads to the spare lock. Then, with a screwdriver push our the lock, or you can pull it out with pliers. Afterwards and forevermore, you can use the black rod extension to turn the spare tire winch mechanism, and it will work beautifully every time.

If you want to read more details about how to remove the lock, and pictures to guide you, check here: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/333925-used-truck-has-no-spare-tire-key-2.html

Also, if you don't want to drive around with your spare unlocked (because, apparently, people steal spare tires), you can get an aftermarket tire lock for a very reasonable price -- and it will work, and be a heck of a lot better than the stock spare lock/key discontinued nightmare.
