Corsa Bakkie keeps cutting out when not applying gas.

I have a 2001 Opel Corsa Bakkie which has just had a new cooling system installed. The car has been driven for some distance since these repairs were done, about 1000Km and it has given no problems.

But today I tried to start it and the car started but immediately cut off. If I revved the car when I got it started the engine stayed on but as soon as I leave the petrol it turns off again.

Once I got the car moving, it ran fine but as soon as I slowed down or applied the brake all my panel lights came on and the engine "turns off". Note: the engine does not stall, it just turns off as if you turned the key.

While I was driving then my brake pedal suddenly had so much tension on it that there was only about a 1cm range from not having brakes to having them slammed on.

Please help me.

Yo man, i have the same bakkie more or less same problem.Lights came on as i was driving on the highway and it just died...pre ecnition...Starts then dies again...bla bla bla.List goes on!
Start by replacing the Petrol pump relay!!!+- R400 i think.

Its next to your right foot ,next to gas pedal.Behind that cover.A small black box!

don't buy it from a dealer!
Good luck

Opel Corsa 1.4 bakkie jerks on pull away and sluggish in performance and cuts out

Add fuel injector cleaner to fuel and see if that helps.
If problem goes away then you're lucky.
If problem abates a little, then fuel injector change may be warranted.

98 opel corsa 1.4 bakkie fuel consumption is high and cuts out

Sounds like a fuel pressure regulator problem. Pull a spark plug and see if it is black on the end.
