I put the climate control to cool outside air, I get hot air coming out of the vents. I put the air conditioning on, I get hot air from the vents again. The engine temp is always in normal operating range, the rad fan runs accordingly & the air conditioner rad fan also runs fine??? Thermostat on the rad hose should be OK right? Could it be the heater core that is shot? There is no apparent leaks anywhere either. A few repairs / replacements made last fall, could this have anything to do with it (Harmonic Balancer, Water Pump, Alternator)??
Well when you turn on the a/c go out and fill your a/c system.................... and if it is not cold you first need to put some refrigerant in it...............if it is not cold check you blender doors they control you hot and cold air mixture coming in the car check the floor heater doors listen for squaring and binding or nothing no sound at all check your heater control panel wish I knew what kind of car you had
Check the actuator motor on the inside of the car on the heater. It shifts the doors of the unit to let the heat and ac shift.
SOURCE: harmonic balancer
Remove the hood, drain and remove the radiator, remove the belts, loosen the bolt into the balancer, replace part way, hook up a harmonic balance puller, tighten until balancer come free, remove puller, remove HB bolt, remove balancer.
Check seals before replacing, if damaged, replace, check keyway, replace woodruff key if needed.
Install is the reverse.
SOURCE: BAD HARMONIC BALANCER
To remove the harmonic balancer on my 1992 Pathfinder, I needed to loosen the alternator and power steering belts, remove the cooling fan (4 10 mm nuts), remove the radiator (2 10 mm bolts hold it to the frame, remove top and bottom hose [The drain **** is covered by what appears to be a coolant line], as well as the overflow tube to the reservoir. With a 3/4" impact gun and a 27 mm socket, remove the bolt that retains the alt, ps shieves and the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft. With a large 3 jaw puller, remove the harmonic balancer with the pully sheives as an assembly. I do not recommend attempting the removal without the puller.
To put it back on, you will need a large torque wrench for the crankbolt and a small torque wrench for with a crowsfoot for the fan nuts.

you have two seperate blend boors in yous HVAC system the one for the passanger side sounds like it isn't actuating. it is controled by a servo motor this motor sounds like it needs to be replaced. Hope this helps you.
SOURCE: Remove the harmonic balancer without a puller?
You can try simply wiggling the balancer and see if you get lucky. A few taps with a rubber mallet may convince it to come free. Worst case get the kit. You should not need to remove the radiator. Do make sure that you have the engine blocked so you don't lose your timing mark placement.
