Loud Roaring Noise

When I am driving straight it makes the most awful roaring noise and then when I turn a curve the noise just subsides. It isnt my exhaust system because I had it checked.

i've only known wheel bearings to go bad in the rear. i'm having the same problem with mine. it feels and sounds like its coming from the front so i checked the brakes and they're fine. I also checked the tire rods and stabilizer bars too. i thought it might be a broken belt or low tire pressure in one of the fronts but it wasn't that either. i'm stumped.

This sounds like a noisy wheel bearing, they really can get loud, but quite when u turn because the weight comes off the wheel..

Roaring noise while driving my 95 tacoma

  1. Loose or worn wheel bearings: This can cause a loud, rumbling sound that increases with speed.
  2. Engine problems: A roaring sound could be caused by a problem with the engine, such as a failing alternator or a damaged serpentine belt.
  3. Exhaust problems: A roaring noise could indicate a problem with the muffler, exhaust pipe, or catalytic converter.
  4. Drivetrain problems: Issues with the drive shaft or CV joints can also cause a roaring noise while driving.
It's best to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle to diagnose the issue and recommend the proper repairs. Driving with a loud noise could indicate a more serious problem and could cause further damage if not addressed promptly.

A loud "roaring" noise as you describe it could very likely be a bearing going out.

Makes a low roaring noise when you are at crusing speed.

One of the front wheel bearings are bad. Jack it up and see if one is loose, the noise will usually change if you swerve back and forth while driving. Could also be a rear pinion bearing in the rear axle.
