SOURCE: Adding coolant to a 1998 Jaguar XK8

if the coolant light is on or comes on when driving you MUST let the car cool down at lest 1 hour before doing anything, after this cool down time lift the hood [u.s.a.] or bonnet [uk] looking from the front of the car on the right hand side towards the back of the engine compartment is the coolant header tank, about 5inch square black in color [u.s.a.] colour [uk] with a large screw top and some rubber pipes coming from it,this should be topped up with coolant right to the neck of the screw cap when you remove the cap to top up the coolant unscrew it slowly as it may be under pressure you don't want hot 212F[u.s.a.] 100C [uk] coolant in your face do you.good luck.

I've the right rear wheel bearings and axle out of my 89 xj6 and there are 3 shims that i for got where they go they are about the size of the out side of the bearings I know about the spacer and shim...

they are the shims that go between the bearings ,you have to mount it all up then determine how much shimming you need to make wheel feel firm when mounted with no movement on the top of the wheel when pushed and pulled ,not easy but to a jaguar lover like myself then its labour of love

Jaguar xj6 break light cancels signal

Replace the turn signal switch. Bad contact inside causing a crossing of the circuits. When the turn signal is applied it should open the brake light circuit allowing for just the signal to work. Doesn't sound like the switch is doing it's job.
