Either your switch or window motor have gone bad. remove switch and using a test light with ignition key on test power coming out of switch by pushing window switch up and touching wire on switch it should light the test light ( wire on test light must be grounded I like to hook it on parts where door opens to get a good ground) than test down on switch by pushing switch down and touching wire on switch again it should light test light . If it lights when switch is pushed up and down switch is good and motor is bad .if switch will not light when pushed down but does light when pushed up replace switch . if this was helpful please leave me good feed back

How to raise a car door electric window when it is stuck down

Frequently when an older car's electric window stops working the problem is a symptom of a faulty switch or failing motor. Follow this tip to temporarily resume the operation of your electric window if the window has an "auto" feature that rolls the window all the way up or all the way down by holding the button.

Step 1. Locate a rubber mallet or heavy soft object that will not scratch or break an item when you use it.
Step 2. Turn the car to on position so that all accessories are working including the other windows. Hold the button in the up position (if window is stuck down) or in the down position (if window is stuck in up position).
Step 3. In the center of the inside door panel with the door open, strike the door rapidly two or three times as if you were pounding your fist on a table.

If the window starts moving, it will likely continue to work for some time and this tip can be repeated until a permanent repair is required.

Windows will not go up and down

If none of the windows work from any of the door switches, I would look for a power problem, fuse or relay under the hood.
Could also be a faulty driver door switch.

Electric windows repair & partsmotors but does go up gears?

The windows are controlled by electric window regulators. They are cable regulators with electric motors. They average in price around $100, new.
If your window is up, don't put it down until you have the regulator replaced. Otherwise you may end up stuck with the window in the down position and no way to get it up.

Electric windows go down on its own without key in ignition

Some year models of MKZ, maybe other Ford products too have problem with windows going down when the lock button is pressed on the ignition key. These models have a safety feature that when you press and hold for two second one of the buttons (look in your manual) on the ignition key the windows and sunroof will open. I was told by the dealer there is a problem with the receiver in car.

FRONT DOOR WINDOW

Yes. I have fixed my driver side window several times. The window went all the way down and came off the track, usually because the window automatically went all the way down. The first step was to take the interior side of the door off: (1) I unscrewed the screws around the door and pull the plastic screws out. (2) I disconnected the thin metal rod that connects the door handle to the door frame to be able to pull the interior part of the door away from the metal frame of the door. (3) I unscrewed the speaker to see where the window meets the rubber track. (4) I kept the electrical wires connected so that I could use the electric window button to lower and raise the window. (5) I lowered the window down below the rubber track and loosened the screw holding the rubber track to the door. (6) I manually adjusted the rubber track around the window glass and pressed the electric window button up slowly, making sure the glass stayed on the track. (7) I put everything back in place, screwed in the screws, etc. Be careful not to let the window go all the way down, because it seems to fall off the track at that point. Hope this helps!

Passenger electric window

Hi Ethel101
I think that what has happened with your vehicle, is that the master (driver control) switch has become defective....If you have a friend who is good with electronics you may be able to ask for help in getting it fixed....otherwise a new unit is needed.

Best regards
