Sit in the drivers seat close the door. with the key off hold the trip odometer button in then while holding the button in turn the key on. if done correctly this will put the MIC (mechanical instrument cluster) into a self test. if the speedometer does not move like the rest of the gauges during this test the MIC must be replaced. if the speedometer does move it is likely your problem will be fixed, however, if the speedometer does move but it does not start working properly then further diagnostic will be needed.

OMG!! This was awsome. I have been without a speedometer for three weeks, been to two garages, replaced the gage cluster and two speed sensors, spending $500.00. I just followed these simple instructions and now my speedometer is working. Thank you! Melissa

Thank you for this information in Solution 1. Here is my experience. Follow the above instruction. In my case, there was not a response from the Speedometer after this reset. I took the T&C to AutoZone, connected the Code reader, Drove the car with it reading. No codes. I drove the car for 3 days, then, while starting the car, the needle bounced back into the correct position and has worked fine since. 1. This wa an act of God. 2. The computer needed to go through it's normal cycle which happens about every 3 days of use. Lesson; give it a few days after the reset, do not run to a mechanic, it could save you money!

Turn signals on 2001 Chrysler Town & Country cause dash lights to come on and speedometer & odometer quit working

I would say its probably a short or a ground problem at the turn switch or a wire in that area. you need a test light and probably a multi meater and some nohow a ground or wireing problem can even drive a master teck crasy.

HAve a 2003 Chry. Town & Country, 124K. The

Try output sensor for the transmission (it is similar to a vehicle speed sensor), these can control the speedo and shifting. Not sure if it does anything to the rpm guage, but very possible.

a scanner that gets into the instrument cluster computer can reset the needles. or take the dash apart and manually turn dash cluster upsidedown, then the needles will move so rotate untill the needles are reset.

It is the speedometer that doesn't work? What problem do you have? Does the transmission shift or is it stuck in 2nd?

97 town and country LXI mini van speedometer and tach not working

the cluster needs to be calibrated to the pcm before the speedo and tach will work. You will have to take it to the dealer to have it done. The last time I had to do it, it cost me 70 dollars.
