Reverse lights wont work, not bulbs, fuses, reverse switch, had a new tailgate and no reversing lights since. Been on a computer and no faults are found?
After finding the culprit to what tripped the frm module you will need to reset module(as I understand not just fault clear with an obd reader)
my 05 plate 320d had a broken ground wire in rubber gator to the boot lid plus had corroded bulb sockets with signs of electric arc all cleaned and repaired the ground wire.
After checking fuses none blown I replaced 1 dead bulb still had no reverse light tested all bulbs were fine frm has tripped or switch has gone bad would be nice to be able to reset frm with obd reader for free but I've not found anything to do it yet hopefully this info helps someone.
A very common problem on the e90 320 BMW
there is no separate fuse or relay associated with reversing lights, they are controlled by the FRM module behind the hood/bonnet release. This module can go faulty but also the wiring harness in rubber gator on right hand side of trunk/boot lid hinge side gives lots of trouble with the wires breaking inside the rubber, if broken and repaired you still often must reset the the frm module with diagnostic tool to get lights working again, or replace the module with a working one
Hey I'm having the same problem with my BMW 320d 2005 car. Fuses, switches ,bulbs are all fine abd reversing lights still not working . Please help me out

simply open the boot & remove the blown bulb & replace with a new one. the bulb is just a half turn holding in there so turn it anticlockwise & it should pop out.

is this an X5? is so most likely it is the contact points on the bulb itself take a flash light and look inside the tail light assembly at all the contact points of the affected bulbs

There is nominally a fuse, relay, and a switch associated with your reverse lights. Possible repair listed from 'easy to hard' by escalation
easy:
disconnect your negative battery cable, check the fuse block. It should be a 20A fuse(#F203). Some models use a 10A fuse(#F26). Replace as needed
Reconnect the battery, test.
if that doesn't work...
moderate.
have already checked the fuse, check to see if you have a "reversing light relay" (K6325) (My 2001 z3 does not) If present, disconnect negative battery cable and replace the entire relay. It is not worth trying to refurbish them.
Reconnect the battery, test.
if that doesn't work...
hard...
If both the fuse and relay are in good order, it is likely a fault in your wiring or the "reversing light switch"(S8511)
On the manual transmission:
The switch is located on the left of the gertrag transmission
The switch is located on the right of the ZF transmission
unscrew the switch from the transmission
install the new switch, tighten to 15 ft-lbs torque
On the automatic transmission:
If replacing the fuse and relay did not work there is an issue with your transmission range switch, various shift solenoids, shift linkage, etc. I highly recommend a dealer or qualified facility's examination.
I hope this helped!
