My Venture starts and stalls. Don't seem to be much of a problem in colder weather but when it's warm out it turns over like it's going to start then dies and won't restart. Took it for a tune up and they changed a sensor but still does it. Have had it towed 4 times now and it's getting really annoying cause I can't stop for anything, it may not start back up. No codes are coming up. Once it's sat for a while, like 2 hours or so it will start. It's not overheating so I don't know what's going on. The garage checked the thermostat and said it was fine. Help!!! It's already cost me about $600 between the tune up and all the tows. Thanks
First,
Did they change the coolant temp sensor?
The one that sends the engine temp to the computer, not the one for the dash temp gauge.
Next,
If the engine has a leaky fuel injector it will start great cold but have trouble starting when hot unless you let it sit for awhile to evaporate the leaked fuel which would be around 2 hours.
Try holding the throttle wide open when it fails to start when hot,if that helps start it quicker then it is most likely a leaking injector.
Also when/if it starts hot look for black smoke from the exhaust as it starts

you have a immobilizer problem 100%.you can try disconecting battery it works sometimes.if not you need a dealer with diag equipment.

Marshall, Before going to the expense of replacing the fuel pump, I would recomend a fuel pressure check. If you do not have the equipment, take it to your favorite mechanic and ask them to check. The pumps and strainers run between $180 to $400 depending if reconditioned, new and brand.
Let me know.

Time for a complete tune up, this time put a distributor cap on too, plugs wires cap rotor, and use quality parts. what you got here is condensation getting under dist. cap most likely because cap has a hairline crack in it.
SOURCE: towing and alligment problem, relation
Most likely the tow company hooked up the chains wrong when towing your car. Was this a flatbed tow truck or the two wheel dolly that only lifts up the front of your car? If the tow truck was a flatbed then when the car was pulled onto it the chains were probably hooked up wrong and a lower control arm got bent which would create your car to pull when driving. If it was a dolly type and the e-brake was left on then one of your tires has a flat spot and could be creating a radial pull. Take the vehicle to a repair shop that does free alignment checks and ask them to inspect the suspension for damage/ bent parts that could have been created by a tow chain.

Its OK to add a small length of the same gauge wire there. Solder the connections if you can and make sure that you use shrink tubing or a good tape job to protect the repair.
