Check the connections in the control panel. Use a pair of U-bent coat hangers to slide into the holes on the two sides of the control panel until the clips engage then pull it out. If these aren't loose, try checking the voltage. You can also check the blower motor relay. It's either in the fuse box in the passenger compartment or in the power distribution box at the front of the engine compartment.

Blower motor stopped working on 99 taurus; no air/heat; need assistance w/troubleshooting. Where should I start?

Start by checking the fuse. If the fuse is good, then either the blower motor is bad or the blower motor resistor pack is bad especially if this problem started with the lose of some of the speeds as in it only worked on high. It can be the speed control itself is bad but rarely does it go bad. You can check the motor by applying 12 volts directly to the motor to see if it is good.

2002 taurus sel - sometimes the heater doesn't blow

If the blower motor not blowing, and it is on high, bump the lower motor to see if it will try and start working again,if it does, replace the blower motor. If it does not, then replace the blower relay. If this only happens on the lower speeds, replace the blower motor resister, witch is mounted very near the blower motor in the blower box, with two screws, and about 7 wires going to it.

The blower in my 1999 ford taurus stopped working. It does not work at any speed. How do I replace this part myself?

The blower motor isnt hard to replace. A couple of quick questions though, did you check the fuses and relays? Secondly, sometimes the motor can develop a bad ground, did you check that? The blower motor is located under the hood, on the passenger side, on the firewall. It's kind of round looking, and has an electrical connector plugged into it. Turn on the key, put the fan speed selector on high, and jiggle the wiring connector on the blower motor. If nothing, unplug it, and look at the prongs inside the connector. If they look corroded or rusty, try to clean them up with a small wire brush. Otherwise, to remove the motor, simply remove the small bolts that hold the motor in place, there may be 5 of them. Take it out, and replace it with the new one.

My blower motor fan speed switch will work only on High.

I had a similar problem with my 03 Taurus. Does your floorboard on the passenger side get wet when it rains really hard? If so, Ford is aware of a defect above the fan motor which is behind the glovebox.
I contacted Ford directly and they had my local ford dealer fix it free and they gave me money towards a new blower motor which shorted out from the leak, it's possible it just your switch if there is no leak but you might need both the switch and blower motor replaced like I did. Hope this helps.

Heater stopped working.. blower not working? 1999 ford taurus

sounds like the blower motor resistor which controls blower motor speed has a short and needs replaced.

I would like to know where the blower motor is in a 1999 taurus.(6 cyl. 3.0 DOHC) It works, but cuts in and out. Made some squeeling noises in the past. Thank you.

I hope you are ready for this one. The entire dash has to be removed to replace the blower motor. It one of Fords better ideas if you know what I mean. Its not a job for the faint of heart. It is a pain. Once the dash is removed, it is very easy to get to. I hope this is helpful.
