Hello:

I already have the same problem. I had to change wires from trunk to electric box.

Where are the fuses for locks?

A blown fuse is about the last place I would look to find the cause of a problem with an electric trunk release. What usually goes wrong with these is broken wires inside the conduit that connects between the body and the trunk lid.

I need to use the key to open the trunk of my 2002 volvo s60. The remote won't open it, nor will the manual opener on the lid.

you probably pushed the lock putton on your control panel. it looks like a key in the middle of a car icon. if its lit up, press it to disengage it. it should open just fine after that

What causes the trunk not to latch when closed on a 2002 volvo s60

Its probably a buildup of lubricant and dust that is making the latch stick and bind.Get some rags and put them around the latch.Get some wd40 and give it a really good spray. The wd40 will help to loosen the dirt etc.Leave it for 10mins and do it again.A toothbrush will help free up the dirt and the latch should work.can you hear the motor running when you use remote or key ?2 things that go bad on your car is trunk lock and trunk harness to see if is harness you bring remote and go to trunk push on lock and unlock see if you can hear any noise from the lock in trunk if no moving nosie is heard than your problem is in trunk wire harness ,but most the time problem is trunk lock they go bad more than the harness. when you go to trunk open you will see cover on the trunk lid hold with a clips you have to pry out all the clips and cover will come out in the trunk lid now that done you will need to unplug power from the trunk lock and lock from under front side you will see 2 bolts torx size t45 or t50 remove that and lock is out.Check the lock condition and movement manually.---------------

The trunk on my 2000 volvo s-40 wont open

you'll need to insert your key into the trunk lock. prior to doing this you'll need to use the automatic lock on the driver side of the vehicle, hit the unluck button twice. Torn the key in the trunk to the left, you may have to slightly press the trunk button in while doing this and give it a lttle wiggle after the key has been turneed to the left push the button all the way in, if this does not work repeat the process but reverse to the right instead of the left.

This manually disables the remote lock for your trunk.

Diagram for volvo trunk lock

My son was missing with the valet parking key while I was driving. When we got home and tried to open the trunk it wouldn't. It also made this buzzing sound when I push on the trunk latch.

Trunk wont open on my 2001 vw tdi jetta

when you hit the key and hear the motor push down on the trunk a few time. quick and hard like you are doing a cpr chest compression. I know it seems counter intuitive to push down to open the trunk but it just may get it un stuck. I know someone who had to do this every so often to get in their trunk

Want to install new replace lift-o-mat stabillus trunk support

Ive never changed them in a Volvo, but the several other vehicles I have, it's just a snap on socket to attach or remove. So, to remove, gently pry apart, to install, push round opening onto round 'ball' til it snaps in place. They should come w/ instructions.
